Oh I don't know maybe because you customize your abilities to play a certain role, hence, role playing.

I'm done arguing this, I now see it is futile. Obviously a game is not an RPG unless it has dialogue options, because you know, they mean so much.

While I would not claim FF to be one of my favorite JRPG franchises, I still enjoy it's entries none the less. I just enjoy coming in here and watching people rip on one of the most well established franchises in gaming and call it "crap" like it just magically got elevated to its status with dumb luck. Hell it doesn't take much to realize it's not all that bad to be well received generation after generation by the industry in terms of critics and sales.

Alot of good games are lost in the tide of overhyped games.

Sure. Yet these overhyped games are merely overhyped by some of the gamers, not all. To some people Final Fantasy is their favorite franchise. To them it's hyped just right. Neither side is more correct on the matter than the other.

It's all opinion, and I think Final Fantasy is trash. Thats my opinion, and considering your name, you think the opposite.

Demon's Souls: A generic hack'n'slash RPG.

Dragon Age Origins: It has the potential to be the most complex and deep RPG of this gen. I think this game will finally take The Witcher's crown.
