I'm bored, so I figured that I would make a list of some of the best, and my favorite developers, publishers, and other companies and why.
Level-5 -- Developer -- created the Dark Cloud series (preferrably Dark Cloud 2), Dragon Quest VIII (while working with Akira Toryama - DBZ creator/artist), Rogue Galaxy (one of the best RPGs ever that deserves more), and the upcoming Dragon Quest IX AND"White Knight Story" for PS3, an action RPG with real-time swordplay (actually control what you do - awesomeness) and more, just check out the vid:http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/rpg/whiteknightstory/media.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=tabs&tag=tabs;videos(sorry, don't know how to load a video into my blog)
Intelligent Systems -- Developer -- created the sweet Advance Wars and Fire Emblem series as well as successfullycontinuinga bunch of other Nintendo licensed franchises
Nintendo -- Publisher/Developer -- although the so-called "kiddiest" publisher of the Big Three (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo), still the most successful and enjoyable. (No hard feelings to Sony or Microsoft either, Sony is awsome too, really, but Nintendo is who really has it - I guess Microsoft is good too, never really had too much experience with them, but I would say that they have a lot, just not the lasting appeal of Nintendo) OVERALL for the it's entire franchise lineup - for examples, refer to Super Smash Brothers Melee ( or Brawl) (which includes franchises such as theMario universe, The Legend of Zelda, DonkeyKong, Pokemon, Kirby, Fire Emblem, andStarfox)and others like Animal Crossing - too many mentionables

Crierion -- developer --creating Burnout series and introducing TRUE destrucability, also with Black
Insomniac -- developer -- one of the very first "best" developers for Sony with their early works of the first 3 (or 4?) Spyro the Dragons for the original Playstation and then moving on to creating the Ratchet & Clank franchise as well as resistancewith still more to come. (It's a shame they left poor spyro...)

SCEA -- Publisher/Developer -- for licensing some of the best games ever to grace the PS2, like Shadow of the Colossus and almost any other game imaginableexclusive to just thePS2 - WAY too many mentionables
Pandemic Studios --Developer-- for developing such games as Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2, Mercenaries, and the upcoming Mercinaries: World in Flames, Destroy all Humans! 1 and 2, etc.

Rockstar -- Developer -- I guess I must mention these guys for creating Grand Theft Auto and then making other titles such as Bully, The Warriors, etc. I have only played the grand theft auto series, and I must say that they are some very addicting games, but they really ARE "bad"
Konami --Publisher/Developer-- for bringing in dozens... of Yu-Gi-Oh! games as well as Zone of the Enders, Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry, Suikoden, Castlevania(none of which I have played..), Winning Eleven soccer series, and of course, Dance Dance Revolution - too many mentionables
