Played on Advanced and I'm not very excited about this game. It's not scary at all. Seeing friendlies through walls, clipping right through friendly AI, major object highlights and 'in yo face' popup arrows pointing to objects is too A.D.D. for my taste.

As I feared(sic), this game is nothing but a zombie themed Serious Sam. Which is ok for mindless duck hunt type shooting. But in today's crowd of shooters, I expect or personally demand more depth.

I played tons of this game 14 years ago and it was called playing coop Doom with my friends. Then Serious Sam did it again. Now we have L4D. This game brings virtually nothing new, unique or interesting to me besides the specific theme of course.

No command system in single player.
No dodge moves.
No creative weapons.
No iron sights.
Body physics seem canned.
No quick save.
Only some weapons have flashlights?
WTF is the walk(shift) button ever needed for?
Action is so blistering fast one can't even enjoy it.

I just don't see the hype, appeal or much fun in this one.

Played the 360 demo and think this game is outstanding!! Controls were fine, just takes learning and getting use to. Very fresh feeling, interesting viewpoint and gameplay is Prince of Persia like but in 1st person view.

Jaggies everywhere however were horrible.

Definitely getting this game on PC so I can run 8x anti-aliasing cause this game needs it badly.

It's a good game that should of been great but isn't due to lost potential and some bad design decisions.

I could make a huge long list but to keep the game changes actually doable I would do this:

1. Make the driving have much more meaning. Let the vehicles last longer and allow fun, longer chases by maybe dropping grenades and molitov kocktails behind you to try and shake the enemy. Make an actual race out of it(without gunfire) like GTA's done where you have to out drive, hide and evade them.

2. Keep this hills and ridges but make them passable or climbable while on foot. Funneling sucks.

3. Put some attacking enemies (people and the current animials) in forest, not just in towns and check points.

4. Add more and random treasures for more exploration fun....diamonds on bodies, in trucks, in huts, in river shores, on roadways, in rock ledges, in ground; not just in setup hokey briefcases.

Wall of text /ignore.

Let me make this short. The game is repetitive, boring and unoriginal. It has some pros but way more cons. Its a good game but far from a great game.

Pessu

QFT. Good game that falls short due to lost potential. Plus I miss Val, Jack and Trigens.

To the OP, too long; learn some better grammar and writing skills.

I've got some opinions after playing 6+ hours....

This game is very shallow, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but it certainly does not make this a stand out product. Such a fantastic setting with excellent graphics and solid shooting mechanics held back by uninspired, simple gameplay.

It's a big world but it's duller than a fart; zero diversity seems to be this games forte.

  • Seen one check point, seen them all.
  • Seen one area, next one looks the same.
  • Seen one enemy, the rest are the same.
  • Seen one diamond case, seen them all; no cool, interesting treasures to find. Gets really boring roaming around trying to find a stupid diamond briefcases just so I can upgrade or buy items. How about finding an Upgrade book or something once and a while. Or money on bodies?
  • No leaning or prone.
  • Night time not dark at all.
  • No flash light (guess above fixed flashlight problem)
  • Jeep lights crappy.
  • After a couple firefights, you know exactly what to expect cause it's exactly the same the next time.
  • Bus stops way too few and far between to be useful.
  • Gotta hoof it a lot and you can't sprint for long at all nor is there a toggle walk.
  • There are beds and couches all over but you cant sleep in them?
  • Can't climb trees (ok this is a stretch but would be cool)
  • Enemy vehicles always faster than yours.
  • Respawn gets old and is so rinse and repeat.
  • You are attacked on sight every where you go
  • Enemy can see and shoot too well through bushes and grass
  • 25 min of driving for 5 min mission battles is way off balance
  • Only can do 1 mission at a time forcing even more back and forth driving
  • Weapons guy missions are exactly the same every time
  • No matter what, the enemies vehicles will always be faster than yours forcing you to stop and fight at check points
  • Open world is not truely so open, lots of unclimbable ridges or hills funnel you through checkpoints
One thing this game does well is show how great and deep a game like Stalker is.
