@nate1222 Yep, that's what I'm doing too. Age of Wonders, Medieval 2, etc. I might even constitute as a PC gamer if you'll consider a laptop that runs old games to be proper. :P
@cybrcatter Well, the tech isn't really moving forward then, isn't it? I really can't see how PC is able to play games that can't even run on the PS3 without requiring a higher set up then yours, unless you'll play on minimum requirements at the very least.
What I'm saying is, these new tech that requires systems greater than consoles will not get much welcome, and the consoles won't fade away because of it, because it's pretty expensive.
The author assumes console will die because gamers will get in on the latest tech that renders current consoles obsolete. I don't know about anyone else, but buying a game every month once salary checks in on a 5 year old system seems like a fiscally responsible hobby that is good enough for me.
Besides, this year's E3 just didn't catch with me anyway. :P
@richarrj I'd rather stay in the "financially observant with my hobbies" corner thank you very much.
Not everyone can afford constant upgrading of his system, I've bought the PS3 for $600 and that was 5 years ago and it'll stay this way until it dies. A PC for the same price and time would be near obsolete now by now.
"As our current stable of consoles begin to fade into obsolescence, the PC market has already defined what we can expect from the future of console gaming and development."
Stopped reading right there.
Regardless what PC gamers will tell you, PC gaming IS expensive. Especially if you want to keep up with the latest tech (which few games outside the E3 AAA will ever support, hell, how many non-exclusives utilized PS3's full HD capability again?)
