@ZOD777 If you'll notice, Professor Dipshit, the "rumor" exists because he was fired right after giving a bad score to a game that paid for ad space on Gamespot, and Eidos took issue with it. The second link you yourself linked from the same site says that he was fired because Eidos took issue with his review, so maybe you should read your own links??
