I know this is a new concept around here, but gaming is not a technology industry. It's an entertainment industry. Technology WILL regress if it overshoots the entertainment market's values (which it has), and will stabilize itself (which it is currently in the process of doing). The recession is not what's causing all these layoffs. It's certainly not helping, but it's not the cause. The market is just correcting itself by killing off the technophiles who have been forcing the market into a direction it wasn't meant to go.Dingerious

I lol'd. Pretty hard.

Sheep need all the games they can get.

The Wii really is a revolution.

Q1 2009 for Wii is full of third party, exclusive titles -- about 6-8 of them. Wii is fine.

Yeah and they will all turn out to be great games I'm certain.

Protip: They won't.

What about all the final fantasy remakes? hmm? or the HD remakes like Street Fighter II turbo HD remix or Bionic Commando HD? If a game is popular and you can still make profit off of it, a company will do so.Haziqonfire

Taking games from the NES and SNES generations, revamping them up and selling them for 10$-15$ and porting a last gen game really aren't the same thing.

2008 was the year of the PS3 and 2009 looks to be very solid for it too.

The "just wait" crowd now is really the sheep.

There are only 2 SKUs... The 80GB and the 160GB. Is it really that complicated?

And if you have an extensive PS2 library, doesn't that mean you already have a PS2? Can't you just play your PS2 games in your PS2?

shsonline

No there are not. I'm talking about total, not just the ones they are actively producing. And yes, it is complicated for the consumer who just wants to get standard features no matter what "version" they get. Of course I can play my PS2 but I would prefer not to waste an input, pull out wires and boot up a machine that for the most part is only an occasional form of video game entertainment. Especially when there are others with the same machine I have that don't have to put up with not having it.

Yeah it's a hassle.

I wish the PS3 did have BC just because I want it, but since I've had my PS3 I haven't played any PS2 games.
