And I hereby except this following bet as well...
That way no matter what, I win. And to be extra special I hereby change the first bet from below a 9.0, to below or equal to 9.0. That way if KZ2 scores 9.0, I eat two cheeseburgers!
There are a few things, some arguments, which I do not believe that are valid.
First the Wii from some news article or analyst I read is not really penetrating any new market. Only 10% of their sales come from people that do not buy games normally. Thats not huge. From my understanding its the gamer in the family that buys it then Grandma just plays theirs occasionally.
Next I believe if everyone goes back and looks at the news item which talks about the warranty loss they would see that it was in one quarter that they had that particular loss. Which means that it is not going to effect later reports. Also they have said time and time again that they plan to have a profit some time in their fiscal '08 year. So it would make sense for them to try to get losses out of the way now, to plan for a some profit in '08.
And finally if you go back to the last holiday season, in which every game system was out which game system sold the most? Xbox 360 over the whole holiday season. I expect they will come back during this holiday season. Personally I will not believe in the price cut till there is more confirmation and/or it actually happens. Though if it does it will just be another nail in the PS3's coffin.
76. The problems created by Epic's withholding of such enhancements and
optimizations on the dubious grounds of them being "game-specific" became especially
pronounced when such withholding impacted the specific benchmarks known as "Technical
Certification Requirements" (or "TCRs") that every videogame must meet before it can be
played on a particular game console. For example, Microsoft imposes certain TCR's for games
that are to be run on the Xbox 360. One very basic TCR is simply how long it takes the
videogame to start-up. For Silicon Knights, as of May, 2006, the Engine had been unable to
meet even that simple start-up requirement, still taking over twice as long as Microsoft requires
in its Xbox 360 TCRs.
77. Another of Microsoft's TCRs is that the system User Interface ("UI") can be
rendered at least every 66 milliseconds at all times. As of at least as late as May, 2006, it was
clear to Silicon Knights that the Engine and its renderer could not satisfy that TCR.
78. However, when Epic was asked what was being done to bring the Engine into
compliance with these fundamental TCR requirements from the Xbox 360 manufacturer (which
again, Epic warranted to Silicon Knights it would meet), Epic responded that, though it was at
that very time working toward meeting the TCRs in Gears of War, that level of functionality
would not "make it to the engine level, as it is custom to the game."but wait, there's more

Tell that to someone from the 16th century about 19th century technology. :P
500 years into the future is a long time for us to be using practically the exact same technology. At least in StarCraft they have giant Ion Cannons and Starship mounted anti-ground turbo lasers. :P
How do you know that earth did not enter a time of peace, most military advances come during war. Short wave radar, nuclear, missiles. How many technologies came out of WWII? Look at guns today you see that most of the ones are based on the AK-47. How much innovation are you dreaming up?
And Lasers will probably never be practical, the dissapate too easily in the atmosphere. The military has some they fly around in Boeing transport aircrafts, they weigh around 6kg. The power required to shoot them drains them after one or two shots. They only have a range of 20 kilometers. They are not practical in any form.
I've played both and as many have said UT3 is much more twitch gameplay then Halo3. I remember one game I got into had the instagib on and 200% speed. Fun yet extremely frustrating at first.
They are both run and gun, and have vehicles. In UT you select a server with whatever game type you want, or you look through a big server list till you find one you want. In Halo3 you just select the game type it finds the game for you. Both have clans, Halo has an automatic rating system that will match you up with people about your rating.
Ultimately I think UT3 is more hardcore, Halo more fun. If you want the flashiest fast paced, go UT3. If you want an all around better game experience I would probably go Halo. And I believe at any one time many more people are actually playing Halo.
