When you have met or surpassed his success in game development, please do stop by and let us know.;)

Criticism is only allowed to be given when you've "met or surpassed" the criticized one''s "success"? Silliest thing I've ever heard.

Depends on your perspective, I suppose. The context in which I obviously meant it is that Peter M. is speaking from the point of view of someone who is quite high on the pedestal of that which he is offering his opinion on. Therefore, what he says holds more weight in regards to such than some random forum dweller who calls him an idiot when the man is more qualified to offer up an educated opinion on a game than he is. Hardly silly, friend. It is just a fact. ;) Have a nice day.

That's not an argument to prove Molyneux isn't an idiot. All you're telling Mr. "random forum dweller" is that you're ignoring his opinion because you don't think he's "qualified" enough, which is, uh, a little silly. You're not "qualified" either, so I guess you can't call any game developers idiots -- and neither can you call them anything positive, either, because who are you to know? You don't have an "educated opinion" like a real developer does.

Peter Molyneux is an idiot. Not because he said that, just in general.

Keep in mind, this is a guy who thought a dog would change gaming, and storytelling in games forever.

I like achievements. They provide some incentive to replay games for me.

Yes.

[Demon's Souls] relies on the online content to add not only to the atmosphere (an essential part of singleplayer games), but the challenge.foxhound_fox

It doesn't "add to the challenge", it ruins the challenge by allowing you to slide past levels with the help of superior players. Nor does it really add to the atmosphere; the art and constant threat of death create that.

Without the servers and multiplayer content, the game will have no longevity.

foxhound_fox

Online is by no means a necessary part to this game. Demon's Souls is incredibly addicting, and only really opens up on repeated playthroughs. The game has an insane amount of longevity, with or without the superfluous multiplayer component.

Anyone care to explain the skill needed for an RPG?

Bigboi500

Strategic placement, timing, when to defend, when to heal, when and how to counter powerful spell or magic, supplies you have on hand, etc. Thinking and planning instead of just reacting.

You've never played an FPS where you need to think and plan?

They are losing money because those new studios aren't making games that sell as much as they need to.Willy105

Erroneous... Their software is what is pulling them a profit

[QUOTE="-Snooze-"]

It seems more people enjoy Nintendogs then Uncharted.

wasted_wisdom

No it seems more non gamers who just wanna pass time while going to work enjoy those ames thus providing sales. Now this is where it gets me because 90% of sheep and ds and wii owners are non gamers but you sheep want their faction to matter in SW? I've said this before and get mad if you want to but I'll say it again, The wii and sheep in general aren't taken seriously in SW. If you don't believe me, go look at all the Ps3 vs. 360 threads.

Yea, I hate how sheep try to shove popular opinion down our throats... We should definitely fight their arguments by using the popular opinion of SW
