Total War (any of them, rome, medieval, empire, shogun) grand campaign games 2-400 hours (remember mods as well, for completely new experiences: www.twcenter.net).

GalCiv 2 50-200 hours..

Civ games - 50-150 hours a piece.

Dawn of discovery/anno games -50-100 hours.

Then you got the RPG's with alternating endings, im not that much into playing a story based game more than once, but apparently

Witcher 2 should be quite decent for a 2nd playthrough (even if you got a good memory) 50-100 hours.

Mass Effect is said by many, to be replayable as well (I could not play any ME game more than once though, first playthrough is good though, and will net you a good amount of game time) 100-200 hours for I+II+III.

Then we got the openworld sandboxy arrpeegee games,

Skyrim is pretty much the king here, oblivion and morrowind as well, if you're not afraid of older graphics. around 500 hours for all games

Far cry 3 to some extent, im not that fond of it compared to TES games or even FO games, it's good enough to warrant a single playthrough though. put around 25-30 hours into this one.

Fallout 3 and new vegas, FO2 and even 1 if you're still not afraid of older graphics not the 500 hours as the tes games, but surely around 400 hours :)

TES games got a sh1tload of mods, which can further expand the world and breathe new life into the game.

Gothic games as well, lots of choice in those ones, all older graphics, all european (no hand holding, no easy mode, generally require a bit of thought before action).

Theres more im sure, but this is a pretty good foundation for great single player experiences.

Happy gaming ;)

Steam has not been the only serious player on the digital dristribution market for some time and as long as money can be made, companies will be sure they get a bite of the cake..

I don't know how much of the digital distribution sales goes through steam, but im pretty sure they don't even sit on half of the online game sales and im confident their market share will only diminish in the future, as more players enter the market..

Speaking about success, I guess it depends on how you define success, but some people prefer origin over steam allready, so I guess they would say Origin is not AS successfull as steam, but has surpassed steam allready.

If we are talking number of users, I think Origin will have about as many users as steam in the future, if they don't allready have.

What do I prefer? - Neither, I prefer retail :)

edit. messed up space -.-

Im pretty excited for the next AC game, I like how they develop in each sequel and I think the story(/ies) is/are some of the better in games.

So bring it on AC, I can't wait to continue assassinating bad guys !

After having played the game a lot (too much probably), I can safely say that AGOD has a very good frame for an epic dungeon keeper alike.

The basic frame is functioning quite well atm. you have a big box you can dig in and carve out your dwarven empire to your liking, in 3d - meaning you can dig horisontally and vertically (up and down, as well as to the sides).

I can see alot of room for improvements and more content in DLC and XP packs, and it will be easy to implement alot of content because the framework of the game is so well made.

The game is only 10 bucks atm. and for 10 bucks you get a lot of good value for your money atm. :)

Hey GS'ers, im not sure wether to ask in the PC section, but I rarely post or read other sections of GS, so here goes :)

Anyone else noticed gamespot turned from a nice dark/black background to white after the crash?

Anyone know how to stop gamespot colors making my eyes bleed again? (change color into something dark('ish)).

Thanks in advance :)

Sounds promising, hope they try really hard to forget about DA2 and focus on making a DA:Origin sequel.

I won't preorder this time for sure, if it's as dumbed down as DA2, it's not worth the full price from the get go.

Will probably buy it when it's at a steam sale or the like - unless it's as good as Dragon Age: Origins, then I would happily pay and play it for 60$.

I am really excited about this game, and I just thought I would let you guys know that you can get a free fun DLC if you preorder the game.

It's kinda like dungeon keeper, with dwarves.

official site:http://www.paradoxplaza.com/games/a-game-of-dwarves

Steam:http://store.steampowered.com/app/200370/

Gameplay footage:http://da.twitch.tv/paradoxinteractive/b/335108510

if you allready got AGOD, how are you managing the wait time?

XCOM and Dishonored - yea, allready completed both, so im kinda screwed atm :P

Baldur's Gate defines a good RPG.

It was the first RPG I played, that really kickstarted my love for good RPG's - unfortunately, not a lot of the later RPG's have given me same sense of epicness as BG1.

I liked:

How you are "introduced" to the story.

The story itself.

NPC's with personality.

Character progression.

Difficulty.

the game world and the feeling of "going on discovery".

The variety of character builds.

An established world, that can be build upon.
