[QUOTE="waynehead895"] I'd say you're wrong on this. My brother bought an Xbox 360 only for his next gen NBA 2K fix. If the PS3 was cheaper he would've got a PS3 instead. Gears of War was just a bonus for him. But if the 360 had no exclusives he'd be fine with that. I'm sure he isn't the only one. There guys who only really play Madden and they probably will get it on the least expensive console.thepwninator

what's funny is the 360 actually has more exclusives and also more multiplats you can't play on the ps3 at all. There really needs to be a term for games you can't play on playstation 3, because this whole argument like it's for people who don't care abotu exclusives and just want madden and multiplats is silly. The 360 has more games you can't play on playstation. it also has more exclusives.

You could always say "PC/360 restricted multiplats". It's nitpickingly accurate without being offensive to other fanboy groups.

I've done that though and fanboys still remove games from the ones i list and say they don't count. It's hilarious after a while. Saying i bought a console because it's cheaper and i just like multiplats and madden is silly. the 360 has more exclusives and more multiplat games i can't play on ps3. That's the cold hard truth to cows everywhere.

Exclusives are important because NOBODY walks into a store looking for a console, and basis their decision on a multiplat game. They ultimately base their console decision on price, and which games that console offers that they want that the competition doesn't. It is stupid to buy a console if your sole reasoning is because it has a multiplat game. I would then argue that other features are third.

I just have heard it so many times like it's a rule here and 360/pc multiplats don't count and are somehow being erased like they don't. They do count. Those are games the competition doesn't offer. They aren't on playstation. Maybe they aren't exclusive, but correcting posts like they don't count at all is silly and not some rule here at system wars like i've heard people say it is.

I'm going to make all my posts of games "not on playstation" from here on out and see how cows correct my post saying it isn't right, when it is right according to the rules here. If they can make claims like "only on playstation". I can say "not on playstation". Microsoft is clearly winning that war. It also means more and holds more weight if you look at sales of the consoles.

Cows are really using this exclusive thing and beating it over people's heads like it means something and determines who wins system wars. Last time I checked system wars rules, this was not one of htem. Just thought I'd reiterate that. I've read so many threads recently with cows correcting 360 posts saying those games don't count because they aren't exclusive and the ps3 clearly wins somehow. I suggest cows reread the rules of the forum because it's not one of them. 360/pc multiplats do indeed count in other words. Stop correcting posts like they don't count. Cows are getting desparate.

I don't buy the whole average video game consumer argument. I'm far from that. I chose to get a 360 because I think it has the best games and is the best system going right now. It's been that for the past several years and I don't see that changing in the next year. When it does i'll get a ps3, but it hasn't in my estimation. Sure the ps3 is capable of great things. But there is that dreaded p-word. Take basketball for example. Am I less of a fan or an average fan because I prefer kevin garnett over lebron james? Kevin Garnett has a ring. Lebron JAmes does not even though a lot of people will say Lebron is better. How so? I honestly believe people think the ps3 is better somehow because sony flashes all these supposedly great things at them when it really isn't yet. Does it have the potential to be better? Yes it does, but by my estimation it hasn't done that yet. It hasn't. I'd actually say I'm smarter than the average consumer and really try to play things right and get the most for my money.

The 360 being the better console is fairly subjective. Not everybody is going to like all games, on both sides of the fence.

-Traveller-

this is true. like i said if you are diehard for some of sony's exclusives i can understand liking it better. But overall to most people that's probably not the case.

Well, we really don't know. Just too many variables. I think both consoles have a solid lineup this year, and it's pretty even IMO.

Still, obviously people will have different tastes :D

Sony is going at it at a weird angle is all. They don't have MG and FF exclusive this year. They are still charging a ton while trying to establish new franchises is all. Playstation to me doesn't have that same draw they once did. If it was priced teh same it would make sense. But they are charging a premium price for their stuff. That's what i don't understand. You can say they are offering more for the money but they really aren't that's the thing. That was my only point. Microsoft has pretty much matched them game for game and tech for tech. Downloadable HD content. Netflix. Natal. It's different ways of doing it but it doesn't really justify Sony going out there saying they are unmatched and can somehow charge more. I just don't see them holding that card right now. They are in last place.

less is not more. The 360 is still the better console. it's also going to be the better console for the next year as well. Unless you are in some bizarro world.

Where have any of those games been confirmed they are coming out in the next year. Come on. Just because they showed a trailer of the last guardian means it's coming out in the next year? Like I said Sony is slow... GT5 they showed 5 years ago. It's still not out. MGSIV took them like 3 years. Now suddenly they show a trailer and it's coming out in the next year for sure? I was listing games that are coming out in the next year. Hence making the console worth it right now. That was the whole point of what iw as saying and you completely missed it. The games you added don't even have release dates right now.

dragonpuppy

alan wake has been in development for 10 years and doesn't have a release date, and that was including so ....if you count it you have to count all the ps3 titles without release dates

I doubt it's been 10 years since Remedy started developing Alan Wake...

They said this themselves. It was at the conference it also has a release date here now. That's what i was going by and the whole point. I missed Ratchet by accident but i said pretty much 5 games. So they have 6 in the next year confirmed that are not on 360. The 360 has 10 games not on playstation 3. Coming out in the next year. If you want to recreate the wheel thats fine, but that was the point of my post and why iw as asking why people are so impressed. The 360 still has more games coming out in the next year that you can't play on playstation 3. Sony says this is the year of the ps3 and always talks about games only on ps3. I was taking a different angle at it and talking about games not on ps3.

Alan Wake has been confirmed by the developer and gamespot for an early release 2010.
