When you have a blockbuster like Gears of War 3 you want to make the game as accessible as it can be. Its the same for many other games these days, developers/publishers don't want their games hard to lower sales.

Isn't that what "Normal" and "Easy" difficult is for?!?

Other than a few notable exceptions, mostly unconventional Sports titles, motion controlling has not added any value to the games I've played. I tried to like my Wii, and I enjoyed Wii sports and a few others, but this was the first time I was not compelled to finish a Zelda or Mario game in quite a while and it was due to the motion controls.

I'm an old-school gamer. I prefer a joystick. I'll not own another Nintendo console until its centered around an analog stick.

Skyrim was the only newly releasedgame I picked up for 2011, so it naturally gets my vote.

For 2012, I'm most looking forward to Twisted Metal and SSX. Yeah, my gaming tastes are still generation behind the times...

I don't know about other Cows, but I'll do the same thing Lemmings did when Mass Effect and Bioshock went to PS3: not give a crap.

Either your thesaurus is out of print or you've misapplied the term "awesome".

Nope, it's spelled correctly, ban dodger.

At least I don't bring shame to HST's memory.

I traded in my flaky PS2 and a handful of games for a PS3 at launch, got $150 trade-in value and have used it as my primary movie player since 2007. So I basically traded in my PS2 and controllers for a PS2, PS3, and Blu-Ray player. I haven't spent an additional dime on accessories (except a new controller) or online. I'm quite content with that.

Actually it is the best console by a million miles over any other so far

loosingENDS

Uncharted 2 Uncharted 3. Killzone 2 Resistance 3. That is all.

Those are totally indifferent games to me, would be the same if they did not exist at all

Skyrim, Witcher 2, Mass Effect, Fable, Lost Odyssey, Ryse, Draco, Dust, Alan Wake, Dark SOuls etc on the other haned are games i would buy a system for instantly

I'm completely indifferent to all but Skyrim on that list. Would be the same if they did not exist at all.

never bothered with it when I had a Sega CD so there's no real nostalgic value for me getting it... now if they ever bring back Night Trap, Double Switch, Road Rash, hell even Sewer Shark, maybe I'd be down.lamprey263

Sewer Shark is the only Sega CD game I remember from my collection. I think I had Sonic CD, but I really don't remember it.

FPS sucks, but that's my opinion. I quit using my wii because pointing at the screen drove me crazy after a short period of time. I really wanted to play Twilight Princess and SMG, but I couldn't get past pointing that damned Wiimote. Even playing Mario Kart, I longed to have the N64 controller in my hand.
