PS3

Blu-ray, bluetooth controllers rechargable out of the box, free online

I'm all about not having hidden costs and being milked to get the full capability out of my console.

Something tells me that you guys that complain about XBL being $50 a month (which I have never paid before because they always have a deal on XBL you can take advantage of)), are just broke middle school kids.

And since I am a fanboy I suggest you look up Lycan7hropy1975 on PSN. On 360 you can fins me at Neue Regel. The fact is I have played enough of both to realize that the PS3 exclusives are for the most part average, the PSN is no where near the quality of XBL, and after spending a year here, I have no desire to ever be a cow.

WarTornRuston

I complain about it, and I'm a 33 year-old programmer/analyst that makes a little over 60k a year. I also don't pay for cable TV or a cell phone. Then again, I own two cars outright (an '08 Camry and an '09 Accord), have no debt, and fairly substantial investment accounts.

Nope. I put far more time into "GTA:SA" last gen than I put in for "GTA IV". In fact, I'd wager that I've played more San Andreas this gen than GTA V. I've played through SA probably 6 or 7 times, only once for IV.

I also never finished MGS IV. I don't mind cut scenes, but it was just excessive and really killed the game's pacing.

I put down SMG because of the Wiimote, so I never even bothered with SMGII.

I feel like people who are complaining about Xbox Live, REALLY suck with money

balfe1990

Or they're really good with money and understand the concept of "opportunity cost". I'm in my early 30s, have a Master's degree, work in IT, and have still never had a cell phone. I also have about 300k in investments and I didn't get there by wasting money.

If you had invested the $300 you paid for XBL in a large cap growth mutual fund that earned an average of 8% per annum, your $300 would have grown 10x ($3018.79) in 30 years. Frankly, I'd rather retire in my 50s than have cross party chat for my video games.

So you're saying put any disposable income you have into a growth fund and wait decades for it to mature(maybe).

Don't buy anything that is considered to be a luxury, just put all that money away and buy yourself something nice by the time you retire instead....

No, most of the people here are in their late teens and early twenties. They're thinking of the here and now, not weighing up financial options for the distant future.

And some people actually find value in XBL regardless of what is said on these forums, so I say, let 'em have it, it's not anyone else's concern.

1. You cannot find any 30 year period where the stock market has lost money. The S&P 500, including the Great Depression and Great Recession, as average over 10% per year for the last 80 years.

2. I'm not here to tell you what to do with your money. However, you need to pick and choose what luxuries you want to pay for. Why pay for something when you can get nearly the same thing for free?

3. I started investing the moment I got a job out of college at 22. Obviously most of SW doesn't think this way because most of our population does not think this way. That's why American households are in debt to the tune of nearly $15 trillion (houshold debt, NOT national debt). Not thinking of the distant future is the reason the majority of the population will have trouble retiring or have been caught up in bankruptcy/foreclosure.

4. I simply replied to someone saying that people that find XBL to be a ripoff are bad with money. I would say I'm the opposite, and it's my money management skills that make me view the 360 (and the X-Box in general) as the system that delivers less for what you pay.

[QUOTE="bleehum"] Cool, a lame sport.bleehum

Sure beats watching a 9-6 LSU / Alabama snoozer... Then again, when you live in the Southeastern U.S., you don't have a lot going for you.

Oh look, a dumbass.

No, that's what Big 10 grads call SEC grads. Your schools suck where education is concerned.

I still maintain that watching MMA beats SEC football. At least something exciting happens in MMA and there isn't the whiff of institutional corruption.

UFC 141, free on Sopcast. That's where I watch all of the PPVs. No lag, no dropped streams, just free MMA. A big middle finger to you, Dana White.

Ubereem by Uberknee.

CanYouDiglt

I stream most times also but it is much better to watch on a big TV then a monitor. It should look much better also.

I usually hook my PC up to the 50" when I watch the Sopcast 'stream'. Sure, the picture quality is less than perfect, but it sure beats paying for the event.

[QUOTE="almasdeathchild"]exclusives can matter but if there is a large number that are barly any a good why get that?when i can find a system with few exclusives better then most of those, and enjoy a smoother running multiplat?

almasdeathchild

What systems are you referring to? It can't be PS3 because then you would just be trolling if you were talking about that.

jindeed most of the exclusives are crap.ps2 was over the top and they all were great.for ps3,uncharted,killzone,mgs,twisted metal. and i cant think of anymore.so yea i think ps3 has some crap exclusives.

That's cute, I remember when I had my first beer...
