I am afraid I haven't got an answer to your problem, but can I know why you refer to the console as 'she' ? I mean as an inanimate object shouldn't it be addressed as 'it'? Or is it an obscure reference to the ps3 montage thread? Another-World

I had a custom slot installed on my PS3. Jokes...No, it was just a silly anthropomorphization of an inanimate object...like calling a car a 'she'.

Reading around on the 'net and it looks like I'm screwed unless I can get it running long enough to perform a backup to a USB drive.

My launch 60GB PS3 died last night. I was playing SSX3 (yeah, I still play my PS2 games) when it beeped, the screen cut out, and I was greeted with a flashing red light. Now, she'll only power on briefly before going through the same process.

I'm torn on what to do, and I'm mad that I'm probably going to lose a bunch of game saves, which I've put quite a bit of time into. I probably have close to 1,000 hours in Oblivion, Fallout 3, New Vegas, GTA IV, and Skyrim alone.

I'm torn on whether to buy a new one or send it in to Sony and get it repaired. I traded in my PS2 when I bought the 3 originally, so I'd really like to retain the BC, but I don't want to wait upwards of 6 weeks to get it fixed. I can live without the PS2 games, but I'll certainly miss the few I still play.

Any suggestions on how I can get my old saves? I've tried removing the hard drive last night, but it's a small Phillips that requires a jeweler's screw driver, which I have, but I can't get enough leverage to loosen the screw holding the HD in. I'm afraid I'm going to end up stripping it out.

No, I lick. You suck. :P

At least I'm a true, hardcore, mature gamer that is superior and reigns all over ya

I've got too many hobbies to focus solely on gaming. I ski during the winter, golf (3 times a week)from spring through fall, and I'm working on my Master's (MBA). I also have to try to keep my wife happy, and we...well maybe not you, know how hard it is to keep a woman happy. :D

[QUOTE="NiKva"]*Bluray. Also 50/50. Microsoft probably wouldn't do it, they still haven't given us free online or even access to the internet on the 360 yet.TREAL_Since

Free Live Gold is primarily up to the Xbox consumer to decide. MS will change it when people stop paying $60 a year (which would be fuk*ing amazing).

Unfortunately, most American consumers have neither principles nor restraint. Otherwise U.S. households wouldn't have nearly $15 trillion in debt, and I'm not talking about government debt either.

About as good as your spelling.

It's Blu-ray

Anywho. I think it's possible.

Animal-Mother

I would say probable. I don't think pure DD is ready yet, and I really don't think next gen games are going to fit so easily on a DVD unless compression techniques really advance.

I'm pretty sure bandodging is still against the rules.

Report me if it means that much to you.

Don't worry, they arn't going to do anything about it. He's just trying to be a D-Bag to you.

Wouldn't bother me either way. I'd just go back to lurking. This place isn't much more than a time killer when things are slow at the office. Once financial reporting gets the year-end GAAP reports out, I'll be busy with projects again (I work with accounting systems).

So you're a bandodger.

waltefmoney

I guess, if you consider someone that was banned, like, well year ago a 'ban dodger'. I wouldn't have come back were it not for the new TOS.

[QUOTE="LastRambo341"] My least favorite is M+KB, but I play Killing Floor and love playing it, as long as the controls work despite the uncomfort. Seriously, the whole "wrist" thing is stupid, y'all are doing it wrongLastRambo341

I'm not a big fan of M/KB either. About the only franchise I play on PC is Civilization. Believe me, I really want to play the Zelda and Mario Galaxy games, but it's really uncomfortable for me. Hell, typing sucks a lot of the time. I remember when I tried the original XBox. The first time I used that controller I said, "Nope, not for me." I hated that thing.
