@dcno07: The way you have it set up currently is fine. DVI->HDMI is still working with a digital signal; it's just that HDMI has the ability to carry an audio signal (though I've had DVI->HDMI carry sound before as well). Otherwise, there's no difference unless you want to run 4K @60Hz, in which case you'd need a dual-link DVI cable.

@ghstbstr: The difference is about medium settings (6770) -> high / very high settings (7950)**
I had a similar upgrade earlier last year (5770->660), and you will notice a substantial difference. Higher settings and more fps? Yes.

EDIT: you may also consider upgrading to a slightly beefier PSU as well. 460W is cutting it close or going over with some of the higher-end GPUs, especially from AMD (my general rule of thumb is AMD's TDP = 115-120% Nvidia's TDP), as my sister's pc with a 965BE and my old 5770 wouldn't even post (got green lines and flashing colors) with her 400W OEM PSU, so she got herself a 430W (not my idea). I would also suggest going for a PSU with an 80 PLUS certification (Corsair CX/HX/AX series, SeaSonic, Thermaltake, Silverstone, etc.).
My best cost-efficient suggestion for your build would currently be the Corsair CX600. It's ~$50-60 now from Newegg, and even less if you do the MIR. Sorry if my points seem scrambled; been drinking :P
As @MonsieurX mentioned, a new ssd and midrange/upper-midrange would suit you pretty well. That's just about the only difference between your pc and my pc right now, at least in terms of raw power.
Halo 2 was my favorite in the Halo series as it brought so much new to the table when it released, and it just blew me away. Though it's very old by today's standards, I feel its balance in multiplayer was top-notch, even compared to Halo 3. That said, I would love an overhauled Halo 2.
@Sollet: Anyone who's done any 3D modeling would have known that those images in the OP are "bullshots," loaded with subdivision surface modifiers and loads of shaders that will not be found in the game (unless you want to play a slideshow); however, any visual upgrade bringing this masterpiece into modern times is welcome.
@ConanTheStoner: Exactly what I was going to say! I was pleasantly surprised by the sheer number of fantastic reveals and demos shown at this year's E3, but only MGSV gave me goosebumps.
@ConanTheStoner: Did he say 300x larger than the map of Ground Zeros? I have not yet played GZ, but if its entirety is only even as big as the Shadow Moses location found in MGS4, that's still pretty stupidly massive for an MGS game.
EDIT: my favorite part of 4 was the old guys fighting. LIQUIIIIID!!!!! SNAAAAAAKE!!!!! yeah, I'm terrible. But you know...
YOU'RE PRETTY GOOD!
Wow, my back-up link is now dead as well. POOP! Well, I'm sure there will be an official video released in 1080p on youtube for E3 in several hours...or a day or something. Can't wait to see more of this game though. I can't believe how excited I'm getting for this game. It's exciting me in weird ways - ways that only a few other games and a cluster of beautiful women can make happen. This game is literally now near or at the top of my most anticipated games list. Thank you, @ConanTheStoner for making this happen.
