i respect many of the people on this forum's knowledge for this stuff. I stated my knowledge is limited. I'm looking for opinions/suggestions/direction whatever from people who are knowledgeable.

but if i could get some affirmation from you that would be great, too. ;)

My wife and I have been looking to purchase a new desktop. Since we live in Massachusetts and next weekend is "no sales tax" holiday, what better time to buy, right? Anyway, this was the computer we looked at. She just wants it for everyday computer stuff, I'd like it for the same reasons but also be able to do some pretty decent gaming, too. I'm hoping it can play nearly everything on pretty high settings, and run new games decently into the next few years. Doesn't have to be THE cutting edge, but $1000 is a lot of money and I want the graphics to hold their own.

I know prebuilt is more expensive, but I know next to nothing about computers and have a low frustration tolerance for this sort of thing, haha

I couldn't agree more. It is just an all around amazing, nuanced game that captures the sport so accurately. Say what you want about sports games, but between this and NHL '10, I couldn't ask for better respites in terms of easy, pick-up-and-play "fun" to recharge my battery in between playing more intensive games, such as Demon's Souls, etc.

No way. Chicago has the best pizza. If you don't use a fork and knife, its not pizza.
