[QUOTE="Why_Me-"]

[QUOTE="notconspiracy"]now I dont support G.W bush, but congress is in control of the government, not the presidentnotconspiracy

It's not only Bush's fault, it's the fault of the republicans for the last 8 years. Their ficsal policy (or lack therof) has caused the biggest economic disaster since the great depression. George Bush is only a part of the problem.

I'm a conservative, but I'm not a republican (even though I used to support them... I even voted for George Bush). Unfortunately, the republicans have spent the last 8 years dismanting the economy under the guise of 'capitalism;' however, this capitalism was really economic idealism. Economically speaking, I'm a realist. I like Ron Paul, but since he won't win the nomination, I'll be voting for a democrat.

im not sure...is congress in complete control of the economy?

Take an economics class-- it's my minor. Congress and the President are in charge of Fiscal Policy, while the federal reserve is in charge of Monetary Policy.

[QUOTE="MetallicaKings"][QUOTE="jointed"]

[QUOTE="MetallicaKings"]stupid college-made videos that ease their beliefs into teens minds that dont know any better. Then the kids act like they know something about something. How about you follow some actual news?jointed

Hah, okay...then would you please explain how it really works :roll:

exactly. Im talking about the principle. You hear this stuff from one source. And by the way, you tube is not a valid source at all. But since this is the only facet you've seen it from, it must be right, huh? A seconds example is you probably hate president Bush (I do too, no worries), but you probably get your opinion from stand-up comedy and shows that make fun of him, not by atually knowing all the facts. I hate people like you.

I've heard about corporations like this before since we have them in here England too. And no, I don't hate Bush...I think he's an idiot but I don't really care about him.

If you're going to accuse people of not know what they're talking about....you really should have a superior argument yourself :roll:.

I don't hate bush, I hate his policies. His fiscal policy has been horrendous, the tax cuts have been counterproductive and nightmarish, and his reliance on monetary policy (artificially low interest rates set by the federal reserve) has caused the biggest economic crisis since the great depression.

sorry jointed, I replied to the wrong post. this is quoting you and responding, take 2:

this best summarizes the conversation taking place now:

me: Explain why I am wrong

you: you're too stupid to understand

notconspiracy

I'm not going to argue with you. I'm only going to say that you have a right to your own opinion, but you don't have a right to your own facts. These are the facts of the George W. Bush economy:

George Bush is the biggest economic failure since Herbert Hoover. Even the Bush-bots will eventually wake up and smell the destruction.

Not really. Fraud is harming someone, as is slavery. If you made this illegal, you'd make every buyout of a company by another illegal, and that's just not possible.

This man is not harming anyone, layoffs and buyouts happen all the time. It's part of the economy.

hokies1313

The legality of the issue isn't the focus of the debate-- my point was that the tax code should be modified in order to prevent this type of parasitic behavior. Tax breaks should be given to companies that are retraining people who have been laid off, and creating jobs. That's what makes for a good economy.

This neoconservative economic model has been an outright disaster.

This man is an opportunistic infection that has arisen because of incompetency in our government. He makes money through laying off hardworking people, and breaking contracts for retirements and pensions.

this is a capitalist country. you are not entitled to a job

You're not entitled to theft either. This is the reason the neoconservative, George W. Bush economy is now crashing. The country is getting what it deserves, and I think the economy deserves to crash and burn.

The republicans don't understand the difference between capitalism and theft.

Where is the theft? seems to me he is just taking advantage of the goverment.

He lobbies congress in Washington to write the laws that he can then exploit. It is an unfortunate day when politicians are willing to sell off the infastructure of the United States to the highest bidder.

Henry Kravis is my hero. God bless capitalism.B05T0N
This isn't capitalism, it's theft, and is a representation of the corruption in our government.

by himself or with a staff?

I'm sure he has a staff, but his business operates at the expense of the country's economy. He is a parasite.
