My first videogame experiences were with platform games, mario, snake rattle n' rolls, bubble bobble, ect. Now platform games seem to be few and far between... as if we need more shooters, action games,and RPG's on our consoles.

My favorite platform game from last gen was a little known game (sold less than 90,000 copies, with a majority of the sales Japanese), called Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil.

Phantasy Star Universe, Final Fantasy XI, Ruumble Roses XX, Final Fantasy XII, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas (I wasn't a fan),Metal Gear Solid 3 (Too much costume swapping and loading between pallette changes)...

There have been a lot of disappointing sequels. These are only ones of recent note. Double Dragon 3 is another huge disappointment from another era of games.

It was almost universally panned, and for good reason. It had a dumbed down control scheme with less customization to make it even for GFW, had graphics and resolutions from the first Xbox in 2005, a now dated console multiplayer experience that when compared to modern PC games is nothing, and featured no new SP chapters or features. You also had to shell out 50 bucks a year for the full experience for Halo 2 online. Noone understood 50 bucks a year for PC gaming, especially when the service only has two other games available for fifty bones a year. They also had no splitscreen, which is where a lot of the Halo fun came from.
