This is a new account of mine so it may seem like I'm new, but I actually have been around for many years on Gamespot. I think Jeff was basically a good reviewer, but I didn't always agree with him. Especially not on Halo 3. I mean, he gave it the great story medal for damned sake. But besides that he was pretty accurate. And moreso, he absolutely always knew what he was talking about.
So, if it's true that he actually was fired over this review then Gamespot and CNET both are just stupid.
But let's face facts here. If he indeed was fired over this, there is no way Gamespot or CNET will have the truth come out. They will make up lies to cover it up. Why? What do you think will happen to this site's credibillity if it came out that a reviewer was fired because some game developer wasn't agree-ing with the score he gave his game? And even worse; for money?
No, there is no way that if that indeed happened we will get that information. At least not from Gamespot or CNET. The credibillity of this site would be destroyed. Reviews of this site would no longer be something to go by.
PM me btw if you want to reply to this because I'm pretty sure I can't keep up with this thread's growth.
