This is a new account of mine so it may seem like I'm new, but I actually have been around for many years on Gamespot. I think Jeff was basically a good reviewer, but I didn't always agree with him. Especially not on Halo 3. I mean, he gave it the great story medal for damned sake. But besides that he was pretty accurate. And moreso, he absolutely always knew what he was talking about.

So, if it's true that he actually was fired over this review then Gamespot and CNET both are just stupid.

But let's face facts here. If he indeed was fired over this, there is no way Gamespot or CNET will have the truth come out. They will make up lies to cover it up. Why? What do you think will happen to this site's credibillity if it came out that a reviewer was fired because some game developer wasn't agree-ing with the score he gave his game? And even worse; for money?

No, there is no way that if that indeed happened we will get that information. At least not from Gamespot or CNET. The credibillity of this site would be destroyed. Reviews of this site would no longer be something to go by.

PM me btw if you want to reply to this because I'm pretty sure I can't keep up with this thread's growth.

ok so i get that you guys like your achievements. but wouldn't you rather be able to do a little something with them? or would you just like to stare at them on ur interface?ridethestreets

The only thing I would want more from achievements is a guideline rule on how developers should use achievements in their games. Games that give away achievements for nothing are lame. But the ones in for example Burnout Revenge; the one where you need to make a clip that gets into the top 20 clips is insane as well. Stuff like that shouldn't be put into a game. The achievements should be challenging but at the same time, should be unlockable by everyone.

Truthely neither of them and ive played both of the games they just arent entertaining but i should mention that Microsoft was the creators of those two games which would explain everything ill stick to Ubisoft, Activision, Dice, Electronic arts and pretty much everything that hasnt been made from Microsoft.Keith4Chelski

Microsoft didn't make either of those games. And did you just say EA? Your opinion will is not valid in my eyes. And I'm sure, in the eyes of most people.

You should post this in the thread to the one you are replying to. Not creating a new thread about it. That's not how it works.

To me, they are recognition. You cleared this game. You cleared this game on the hardest difficulty setting. You played this game a whole lot.

You know yourself it's true, but you get the recognition on top of it. Allot of people like to get recognition for the stuff they do. It's fun to get it, even though you really don't need it.

I like it.

Gears of War. I like the style of the game more. I prefer battle scared muscle packed dudes over shiny clean armour. I also like how satisfying it is to kill in Gears of War, where in H3 I found it kind off dull. Furthermore, H3 online feels too simplistic for me.

But that's just my opinion.

You have to call the Xbox helpdesk to cancel it. I heard it's a real hazzle trying to get it canceled. A friend of mine tried to cancel his by phone and he was assured it was canceled. But the monthly charge continued anyway. I heard more of these problems. So good luck.

Bottom line, you're better off buying a pre-paid card. It seems Microsoft can't be trusted with your credit card information.

I personally enjoy Mass Effect a whole lot. But I don't think it has a chance at GOTY, seeing as other 360 games scored higher then it and it wouldn't make much sense for a 8.5 game to win over an 9.5 game.

So, I take it if this rumour is true about him getting fired over the review, we will officially accept the 'Gamespot is biased' arguement from now on?
