Harry jumped up from a sleep and panned around the room. a couple of tables here and there, and a bar was in the back. To his right was a line of glass windows showing falling snow and the fog he saw earlier. In the near distance was a pinball machine. Harry looked down and saw that he was seated on a cafe bench. Footsteps could be heard, and Harry saw a young, blond haired woman wearing a police uniform coming up to him with her arms crossed. She turned around and sat on a seat near the bar.
"Was I dreaming?" Harry asked himself.
The woman asked,"How do you feel?"
"Like I've been hit by a truck," Harry replied,"but I'm all right, I guess."
"Glad to hear it." The woman questioned,"You from around here?...Why don't you tell me what's happened."
"Wait a second," Harry answered,"I'm just a tourist. I came to Silent Hill for a vacation. I just got here...I don't know what's happened," Harry continued." I'd like to find out myself."
"Uh-huh."
"Have you seen a little girl? Just turned seven last month? With short, black hair?...She's my daughter."
"Sorry," the officer answered," The only person I've seen in this town is you."
"Where could everyone have gone?" Harry said.
"I'd tell you if I knew, believe me," she paused momentarily,"but from what I can tell, something strange is happening. That's all I know."
"Hmm,"
The female questioned,"What's your name?"
"It's Harry, Harry Mason."
"Cybil Bennett," she continued." I'm a police officer from Brahms, the next town over. The phones are all dead, and the radio, too. I'm going back to call in some reinforcements."
"Hmph," he said. Harry got up from the both and started to the door on his right.
Cybil stopped him. "Hold it! Where do you think you're going?"
"My daughter," Harry said in a worried tone," I've got to find her!"
Cybil stood up."No way! It's dangerous out there."
"In that case, I've got to find her NOW! Cheryl's my little girl. I can't just leave her out there by herself!"
"Have you got a gun?" Cybil asked in a calm tone.
Harry shook her his head.
"Well then, take this," Cybil commanded him as she reached for her hostler and pulled out a handgun,"and hope you don't have to use it." Cybil began to say in a serious tone,"Now listen to me...before pulling the trigger, know who you're shooting. Don't do it unless you have to. And don't go blasting me by mistake, got that?" She handed him the weapon.
"Yeah, thanks."
"You'd be best to stay nearby. I'll be back with help as swift as I can." Cybil opened the glass door and left the restraunt.
I better scavenge supplies. Harry went to the bar on the right side near a pinball machine. He picked up a clipable flashlight and placed it over one of his brown jacket's pockets. A map of Old Silent Hill was picked up by him also. A little bottle labelled Miracle Health Drink was left, and he picked it up. On the left side of the counter was another health drink and a kitchen knife. Better safe than sorry thought Harry as he picked up the items. On a table behind him was a radio. Harry tried to make it work, but it wouldn't work.
Harry went to the door. As he reached for the handle, the red pocket radio began to give of a loud krtzzz noise.
"Radio," Harry told himself,"What's going on with that radio?" As he looked at it and began to pick it up, the glass exploded with shards flying out. A pink-ish flying demon snatched Harry with it's talons and dropped him onto the tile floor. Harry pulled out the handgun Cybil gave him and began to fire at it. Harry heard its cries of pain as Harry shoot at it five times in a row before it gave up its fight and collapsed on the floor. The radio silenced.
"What's happening to this place?" Harry went to the radio, picked it up, and placed it in one of his pockets "This thing can tell when those nightmare-ish creatures are attacking. I better take it with me." He went to the door and returned to the foggy streets of Silent Hill.
