Oblivion for me, which I'm around 80-100.

I don't use Xbox live, but back in the day I put a fair few hours into Quake and the C&C games.

A few of the early battles in Lost Odyssey were doing my head in. It sucked because I was mainly losing due to lack of healing potions, but when I'd lose it refreshed to a checkpoint that went straight to battle so I wasn't getting a chance to buy anymore potions.

Anyway since the first battle or two though it has largely been pretty cruisey, can't say I have been challenged at all since then which is a bit of a let down (I'm nearing the end of disk 2, so maybe it picks up?)

Bioshock blew my mind, I totally got absorbed in the world, loved every minute of it. Would be a close battle with HL2 + expansions for best game of this gen for me.

i have oblivion fallout and fable and played mass effect at a friends place for extensive (11 hoursish) periods of time

strigon33

What did your friend do for 11 hours?

I voted for Oblivion, it is definitely the RPG I have put the most time into and probably enjoyed the most. I liked Mass Effect, but the side quests were a real downer.
I haven't got Fallout 3 yet, I'll get onto it soon enough. I'm playing Lost Odyssey atm, I enjoy turn based games and I think I'm enjoying LO, but some of the JRPG cliche's drive me insane. I don't know why they have to make it so ridiciously corny, things like Kaim the 1,000 year old hardened warrior of the battle field sitting down to get his lucious locks combed by his wife. And I mean, I like boobs and all, but I don't have a huge interest in cartoon breasts. Why the f*** is the Princess of a city wearing an outfit she picked up at the local S&M shop?
Some of these little things peeve me and while I think they dreams are generally really interesting and well written, I wish they were animated movies instead of just text.

Anyways, way off topic, sorry :)

Yep, I actually have a big problem with this in games and books. In games, I often get pretty far into the game and then just completely lose interest. Happened with Mass Effect, Burnout 3, Half Life 2, Assassin's Creed and many more and I just resell them on ebay. I always find some fault that annoys me, and don't want to bother with them anymore. In books I read about half, lose interest, and return it to the library. I don't know why I lose interest in games/books so easily, but it means that there are few I actually finish.

Probably Assassin's Creed, it sucked. My interest evaporated after about an hour (after a very strong start mind you)

I'm interested in getting a new RPG (like the ones mentioned) I was just wondering if anyone coul help me find something specific. I was wondering if any of the modern RPGs have an in-depth mini-game such as Blitz Ball in FFX or the car games in the games previous? I find them to be a big draw, I really enjoy a good RPG that has a side game that you can get really involved in to give a break from all the grinding etc.

I've only got an Xbox 360 at the moment which might restrict things a bit. Sorry to crash the thread, just thought it was sorta related and saves starting a new thread.

Wow dude, you need some fullstops and paragraphs! That is impossible to read!

You should just collect the games you like the most, regardless of the system they are on. I don't see the point of collecting a bunch of games for the Wii if you only like a specific 5 or something. I'm just inclined to get the best game available and I usually judge this off reviews/opinions on here, then I only end up with the cream of the crop :)
