I certainly won't be buying it new, but will eventually get it used for the SP only. Resistance 2 MP pissed me off so bad I'm not even going to bother with it on this new one.

Pixel Wonderland. It's cool because everytime I turn my PS3 on, I see something new in the picture!

Alice Madness Returns

Fallout 3

Resident Evil 5

Red Dead Redemption has MP but also has a fantastically long SP.

Honestly, unless you are going for Platinums, there are lots of games that have MP, but have really great SP too. Drakes Fortune, etc.

I really want this game! I wondered how the mechanics would work out and if it would be a pain in the butt. Thanks for the review!

For Resistance 2 co op, you have the option of pressing "Play" and it will put you into a game that is about to start. In the game lobby you will see the list of other players that you will be playing with - random peeps that also pressed Play and the game itself will put you into a random mission level (Orick, Chicago, etc.). If you press "Find Game" then you will be taken to a screen that lists the current missions that people are hosting and from there you can choose what mission level you want to play.

You will be playing with the same people on each mission until they/you drop out. You can play with your friends by creating a party first and then where ever you navigate to, your party will automatically follow.

The thing about Resistance 2 co op is that when you choose your mission level, you play that same mission over and over again until you drop out and choose a different one. It doesn't progress to the next mission level once you have completed one successfully. It's kind of wonky, but helpful if you are going after the trophy for collecting intel.

* I had to edit to say: The Co op and MP game play is NOT the same as the SP - it's not like you are going through the SP storyline with online people - it's just specific missions that have some of the same locations as the SP did.

I'm with ya. I have said many times: "There are just too many great games I want to play right now!" My biggest regret is getting sucked into MP on BFBC2 for 9 months. I had a great time doing it, but I let way too many games get passed up, some of which had multiplayer trophies that are proving hard to get because the servers are now a bit skinny (Resistance 2).

Now, I play my MP games when I am feeling social and want to play with my friends who use mics - I do my SP when I really just want to get into a game and be in my own world.

Awesome game, all the way around. Epic boss fights, just the right amount of puzzles, and the graphics are amazing! I got plat last week and thought I wouldn't want to play it again so soon, but just popped it in today - had a craving to snap some necks, LOL.

[QUOTE="WnderWmn"][QUOTE="Shadow_____"]1) Waiting for something without an official releasing date is stupid. barry000

Don't call people stupid. Grow some manners, and a pair of balls while your're at it.

he didn't call anyone stupid, he said waiting for something that hasn't even been announced is stupid

And essentially, that's calling someone stupid... the OP did ask whether or not to buy a new ps3 or wait for the ps4, right? The OP indicatied that he was pondering waiting for the ps4 release, which the poster I quoted said was stupid.

You could try to get some of the dust out of it, that will make it run cooler and in turn make the fans run quieter.

Just use some compressed air, or a vacuum cleaner.

Loegi

Uhhh, he did say he just bought it, right? What dust could there be??

The fans on the fats are loud - there have been several posts about this. More intense games, louder fans, etc. It's not a big deal. My question is: Why would you buy an older version fat when you could have bought the slim? If it is a price difference, then there you go - you get what you pay for. My fat has had the fan start-up noise since day one, it's louder on certain games.
