1) Waiting for something without an official releasing date is stupid. Shadow_____

Take it back to where ever you bought it - you have a faulty disc! Plus, isn't this a DLC that you can buy through the PS store? Might be better than a disc based add-on.

Yeah, the PS blog stated that the store is up, but the free welcome back content isn't available yet.... but it will be here soon, don't worry!

Just wondering if any of you have gotten this game, and if so, what are your first impressions? I was excited about this game, but the lack of reviews has me worried it's not as good as it looks? Thanks!

Resistance Fall of Man has split screen co-op - I really liked it. Not sure about the trophies though, they might have a MP element and that might run you into dead servers. COD World at War has split screen co-op that is good too, however, I heard the trophies for the COD series are hard to get. Trine is a DLC game that I loved, pretty easy trophies, no co-op, and you would have to wait for the store to open up.

As for your account situation - have you racked your brain thinking of all of the e-mail accounts you have had? Couldn't you do the "forgot password" and try signing into all possible e-mail accounts looking for the PSN reset e-mail? ALSO - I thought there was an option for resetting your password that entailed answering your secret question? have you gotten on to PSN and seen if that was an option? GOOD LUCK!

I have the fan noise thing too (fat, 40 GB) - but mine has always had it or I am just playing the games that make it come on, I'm not sure which. I do remember the fan running often when I played RDR. I haven't noticed it when I am playing BFBC2. It comes and goes during Resistance 2. When I first got it, I was alarmed about how powerful the noise was, but it seems to be doing great so I'm not worried.... *crosses fingers*

I really liked both SP's - Fall of Man was a better storyline though. I never played the MP for the first one, but I am in multi-player hell, as we speak, in the second one. There are several things wrong with R2's MP, so much so that I might not buy R3 because of it!

1. Disconnecting from the servers after every MP match makes for a very long process of finding matches - I feel I spend 1/3 of my play time searching for matches.

2. The in-game logistics could be better. a) Being able to mix and match your grenades and secondary weapons to customize your gameplay would be awesome. b) The in-game mini map should most assuredly be at the bottom of the screen- not the top, where it obstructs 1/4 of your ability to see enemies. c) The ability to spawn on a team mate is there, but is restricted to only team mates that are not in battle, which to me is the whole point of being able to spawn on each other - to help in the fighting! d) being separated from your party at the start of a match. They broke each team down by squads (5 players per squad) which is fine, other than the fact that even if you enter a game with only 2 people in your party, you sometimes get put into different squads - :(

3. The longevity of the game is just not there. I didn't end up playing the game until some time after it was actually released. I decided to go for the platinum, wihch entails having to play a certain amount of MP. Once I started that, there were several bugs with it. I researched the problems I was having, only to find that most of them were never fixed/patched - DESPITE the fact that R2 reps were making statements such as "We are working on a solution to the Allies menu problem that will be fixed in the next patch we release" --- that statement was made in 2009, the patches came and went, and here I am in 2011 and am having the same problem with the Allies menu that everybody else had!

4. Sometime in late 2009/early 2010, they issued a statement saying there will no longer be any support/new patches for R2, but they will leave the servers open. So, any problems that weren't fixed in the couple of patches that were already released, we are stuck with, indefinitely. I guess it would be impossible for a game company to offer support for their games forever, I get that, but at the same time, if you are making a game series and you want return customers, and you know you are going to come out with a 3rd game, then why not continue to support your product between releases??

The only reason I am still playing the R2 MP is that I am going for the Killing Machine trophy, which mandates that you get 10,000 kills in online competitive mode. Fine, I'll grind it out, but the more I play this game the more I hate it and the more I am leaning towards being one of those gamers that hates it when a game makes you do their MP - no matter how bad it sucks.

I have to agree, I hate shopping there. Like the other poster said - their magazine, club card, etc. pitch is so exhausting. I can barely pay for my purchase without just saying "F it" and walking out! Besides that, they are rip off artists when it comes to selling and buying used games and have bad customer service, IMO.

Whatever. I usually buy from Target, or online at Newegg (have you heard of it? Got my new release GOW III game for $8.00 cheaper than other stores).

LOL, this is a funny thread. Yeah, not sure if the OP is asking for advice or not? You can do either one: Convert a non-gamer girl into a gamer girl or find a girl that games and then develop something.

I got converted. It started with me watching my SO play GTA. He showed me he could pick up a hooker, use her and then beat her up and take her money! My jaw was on the floor, but I loved it!

We then started hunting for split screen co-op games and then I broke out on my own. I actually game more than he does now (I'm a trophy whore, if you will). I don't play COD cuz I think it sucks, but I play BFBC2 and many an evening you can here me yelling "Headshot, B!t@h!"

And all of the above is AFTER I have performed my antiquated duties of doing dishes, laundry, and making dinner, HAH!

It just takes a certain kind of gamer (or in-the-moment mind set) to really love this genre of game, IMO. For me, the "unplug from your reality" factor of RDR was huge. I got totally into the game, the missions, the side quests, etc. I clocked a ton of hours in RDR and loved every minute of it.

Maybe you didn't give it enough of a chance? Sounds like it, anyway. And, if you were looking for a good shoot out, why didn't you bother to go to the online? There are a multitude of missions that are extreme shoot outs. The real appeal for me was doing private online sessions, almost like another SP, where you took out entire gang hideouts, you blew up explosive caches, etc.

I didn't get to the end of the main story line until over 3/4 of my overall game time. Same thing happened with Oblivion and Fallout 3 for me. I was having such a great time exploring, finding quirky things to do, hunting, playing mini games, etc. that I had to remind myself there was an actual story line to be followed!

Also, did you bother to check out all the side stuff you can do?? The shooting challenges and such? Those kept me busy and were a challenge for sure.

I don't know dude, if I were you, I wouldn't waste my money on a game like this again - sounds like your more into instant action and a game you can plat in one weekend.
