When are people gonna stop calling Gears a FPS?Black_Knight_00

Well on the GeoW3 beta you can ADS with the hammerburst so I'd call it a FPS game.
:P
I'd say Battlefield takes the most skill from those listed.

i am a ps3 slim owner and i'm thinking of buying an xbox 360 slim (not trading in my ps3 though) but i'm tight on money right now so i'll have the money for it by the first or second week of august and i'm wondering what the differences are (besides cross game chat and the subscription fee). keep in mind that i've been a playstation guy ever since the ps1 days so i've never bought or owned an xbox.

edit: one more question, if/when i do buy the xbox 360 slim, would the xbox 360 slim be fine if a sat my ps3 slim on top of it or should i stand it up next to my ps3?

Well, obviously it has different exclusives to PS3. Multiplatform games often are slightly better than their PS3 counterpart in terms of visuals and performance (lazy ports on PS3 version sometimes, good example is The Orange Box, though I believe it's been patched now). Differences tend to be minute anyway.

Like you said, you'll likely want to subscribe to XBL Gold. This let's you play online MP, use cross-game chat, access to certain deals on Arcade games/DLC etc.

I wouldn't put anything on top of the slim 360, a lot of the vents are places on the top.

If you do buy a slim 360, be aware it only comes with a composite cable (SD), so you'll probably want to pick up another HDMI/Component/VGA cable or something.

Edit: If you're in the US you can also use Netflix and now Hulu I believe. I don't live there so I'm not sure how that all works though.

And the 360 controller is quite different to dualshocks; a fair bit 'bulkier' and it has what I think are better triggers for the R2 button. The D-pad on the 360 controller isn't very good (especially for fighters), though you can buy a new controller design that supposedly remedies this.

The arm-beating one can only be done by Locust, Hold Y when you have your pistol out. COG have a punching in the face equivalent.

As for the weapon executions, you need to earn a certain amount of kills with that weapon to unlock it's execution. I think it's 10 kills for pick-up weapons, and 25 for starting weapons. Just hold Y with that weapon out to do those.

You can usually find a player match without too much difficulty, but ranked matches are another story.

Worst teacher must have been the Textiles teacher in year 9. She was just insane. I can't think of a time where she wasn't shouting, she was just always incredibly aggressive to the whole class. Pretty incompetent too, expected us to get on with everything without any real explanation/teaching.

Oh, and my maths teacher was arrested for having uh, 'inappropriate images of 6-12 year old girls'. Linky

Huh, I thought windows.old is the folder created and everything old is put in, when you install a new windows OS.

I don't think that should've deleted your 'current' things. Then again, I don't know much about it :P

The £40 Turtle Beaches are 2.1 stereo, not surround sound.

I have X11s (2.1) and they're still damn good.

As everyone else said, unfortunately it wasn't ported very well.

With that said, the PlayStation 3 version of the game doesn't perform nearly as well as its Xbox 360 and PC counterparts. There is a noticeable problem with the PS3's frame rate at times. The frame rate hiccups are inexplicable because they can occur when almost nothing is happening onscreen or when you're in the midst of a big battle. It's not a huge gameplay issue, but it is very noticeable and a significant irritation. In addition, the PS3's loading times are longer than the Xbox 360's, and they're frequent enough to be noticeable, especially if you make a habit of dying and restarting.Gamespot review

Still worth getting if other platforms arn't available to you.

I dislike collectables, but Dead Rising's 'Play for 14 hours straight' takes the cake. I don't know if any other game has an achievement like that.
