Get the 8800GT, it performs slightly better than the 9800Gt.

That was the rig I wanted, but couldnt get.

Also, take out a good warrenty. Dell's tend to explode after the first year.

Well, It was the only way I was getting the extra money to pay for this thing.

Unfortunatly, it was either this or I waited another 6 months altogether.

Really, Im paying £250 of my own money... So its not too bad.

I wanted a Dell XPS 420 with all the trimmings, but it wasnt going to happen... That and Dell's seem to blow up past their warrenty date.

I plan to lob a higher quality card into the machine ASAP, but as I now owe someone £102 for this machine, I wont be able to put one in for a while.

Et voila, £250 dissapears from my bank for a custom built PC. (the other £250 coming from a friend).

Total: £500

Its specs are (unless the dude is going to gib me last second):

• Q6600 2.4Ghz Quad Core Processor, 1066Mhz Cache.
• 500Gb Hard Drive, non raid.
• Asus motherboard.
• EVGA 8600GT O/C'd.
• 2Gb RAM

He did offer to O/C the processor to 3.2 Ghz... but lumped an extra £200 onto the price, so I declined. As far as I can tell, this PC should be able to handel most games thrown at it in high res and at good quality. But I want your opinions on whether it could run the following on their higher settings:

• Team Fortress 2
• Medieval 2 Total War
• Battlefield 2
• COD 4
• GTAV (when it comes out)
• Spore

As it is custom built, all parts are fully upgradable, and so I plan on lumping an 8800GT in there ASAP... As even though he says the 256Mb can outperform it... Id rather be safe.

On a side note: When a game asks for a processor of say 3Ghz, what should I, as a Quad owner, think? Does tat mean my four processors cant handle it at full?Im not too sure on that.

For some inexplicable reason, I was banned by Punkbuster while playing Return To Castle Wolfenstein. After a month of battling with the company and the bans center, I could neither find out why I was banned, or get said ban lifted.

My worry is... As this is a global ban, no punkbuster servers on RtCW will accept me anymore. Does this mean that EVERY PB protected game will reject me in their servers?

Im worried because Im an avid Battlfeild 2 player, and soon to get a new PC and game copy. If I cant play that, i will be... miffed, to say the least.

Considering how easily the marines came down, it could be foregoing fluff in order to have cinematic effect.

I think including all four stages would have been quite a long trailer. Also, amidst war, maybe there was no notice of those things.

Someone was caught by PB using aimbot on my PC (having added it themselves while i was watching TV), does this now mean Im banned from all PB protected games?

If so, that sucks majorly
