I could get into Cyberpunk if it has a completely serious and realistic tone like Deus Ex did, and CDPR are just the guys to pull it off. Consider me excited.
So AAA and Indie are the only two categories now? I don't think the industry is quite that black-and-white. I love "Indie" games to death, but I enjoy my AAA's and everything in-between as well.
I don't see either game type dying or doing any sort of "killing" anytime in the near future. If the next gen of consoles fumbles the ball, then we'll talk, not until then.
If this is stemming from the reception of Dragon Age 2, which ironically focused MORE on combat, then how they hell can they make these people happy? The answer is you can't, some people just have the mindset that they can create a petition and get attention. Loud ≠ Right. Just last week I watched Double Fine raise money for a game by and for the gaming community, only to see this face-palm inducing example of how much of a mixed-bag the internet and gaming community can sink.
As a gamer who usually likes to invest a little extra money for a soundtrack and art-book; I did laugh at the Prototype 2 CE, especially considering the "fan" moniker. Who is a "fan" of Prototype? Not to hate on the game, but I wouldn't be surprised if they threw adverts on Mountain Dew cans just to convince people how awesome the game is/was. Acti has the worst track record with CE's and gives them a bad name.
@Twin-Blade -- The ironic part was you're unfounded accusations and questioning of the integrity of GameSpot, not you're console orientation. Your previous comment was very ironic in nature, especially given the response you received from Giancarlo. Also, Galugon is just very analytical; he means no harm, really. :P
