I have been playing Fallout 7 hours a day or so for the last week, and I have no problems except for the ocassional freeze ( I let it on even if I am not playing, so I can resume playing right away :P)

I guess I'm not the only one who's fascinated by this game. No problems here either.

Ah, that is hilarious! Yes, I'm still crazy about MGS4, and I probably will be for the rest of my life. Every game in the series has been phenomenal for me, and I've got awesome MGO memories too. Still have yet to earn all the animal rankings and buy all the weapons.

I just bought it yesterday, and it looks fantastic, besides being a ton of fun. I also have Oblivion and now that I'm playing Fallout 3, it feels like everything that Oblivion should have been. It seems even more well thought out, giving me rewards for doing spontaneous things that wouldn't have made a difference in Oblivion. I also think the character models look far better, and the voice acting is better as well. Now I can finally care about the people in the game, whereas in Oblivion most of the people seemed like generic actors who just moved the story along. Also, Fallout 3 is back to the "gain levels from experience points" system, which is nice to have again. The PS3 version does have elements that look better than in the 360 version, just like with Oblivion. I haven't encountered a single glitch and I'm happy to say that this is one of the best games I've ever played. The game pays attention to things you do that the game doesn't even suggest for you to do--you just think of things on your own sometimes, and take action, and suddenly you're getting an award for doing it. This is the real "Choose Your Own Adventure". Having lazer guns and grenades doesn't hurt either. Long live Oblivion with guns!

Mortal Kombat vs. Winnie the Pooh (Pooh Corner). Tigger's bouncetality would set a standard of pwnage so high that few games would be able to measure up, causing an irreparable distortion in the game-time-space continuum, causing SkyNET to enter alert mode and perceive humans as a critical threat. MK vs WP must be stopped!

I'm thinking of getting it but I have a question:

1) Is the stream of user generated content any good? My fear is they'll be a bunch of boring unfinished levels?

2) Is there any reward to beating user generated content? Or is there no way to show off what levels I've finished?

3) Is it REALLY (answer honestly) going to be something that'll keep me occupied for months?

4) Overall, what would you rate it?

OmegaCookie7

I just bought LBP a few days ago and it was much better than I expected. There is plenty of user generated content that is great, and quite a variety of levels too. There's anything from traditional platformer levels to "super-computers" where the user built an actual computer over the space of the level using the regular creation pieces, and the computer can play Tic-Tac-Toe against you, or it can play some Mozart on a giant piano. There are levels where you get into a spaceship and flying the ship around is the entire level. If you have any ambition to create levels as well, you will probably love this game. The fact that most of the stuff in the game looks photorealistic, like, for once, I feel as if I'm looking through my monitor into another reality, really adds to the experience. LBP also has trophies, if you care about that.

When you beat user generated content, you can win items from their level. There's one out there, for example, that gives you a tank that you can use in your own levels.

I don't know how long it will keep you occupied, but for me, as someone aiming to be a creator, I can see it lasting over the next year or two at least. The new MGS4 stuff is fantastic and adds even more possibilities, and you don't have to own the kit to be able to play the MGS4 user created levels.

If all else fails, YouTube it.

seems like i'm one of the only people who likes GTAIV. i thought it was a great game even if it wasn't so over the top. game of the year? no way, i defanitely disagree with gametrailers on that one, but its solid, and i don't get the hate.fmobliv06

I think GTA4 is awesome. GTA: Vice City was the last title I played and finished in the series, and I had no issues with GTA4 except for Roman and Brucie and Jacob blowing up my cell phone, asking me to go play pool or darts when I just wanted to finish another mission. On the other side of the pancake, it was great to be able to call Jacob to show up with his portable weapons store.

I was one of the people who stole a tank in Vice City and used it to do vigilante missions, just obliterating the entire town. I guess I was taken by the allure of GTA4's graphics and physics, so I didn't miss the tank that much. Just driving the cars was great--so much detail. I'm crazy about the new battle gameplay though, from using cover to having the option to pop out and fire or just throw your gun over the top for more protection and less accuracy. I also like the hand-to-hand fighting, with the dodging and fatality counter-attacks. And disarming. I also like that the story branches depending on your decisions. I liked the internet too, because i actually went out with a girl from the dating site, which I didn't expect to be included as a possibility.

The multiplayer is also great, I think. It may have taken over as my favorite online game over MGO. Oh! But the worst thing about GTA4 are the pockets in the pool table. There is no way it could be that difficult for a ball to fall down a hole. So frustrating! And you have to listen to the Massive B radio station while you play pool. I know what a gun sounds like, okay? Stop making gun-sounds with your mouth!

There is a lesson to take from this credibility thing: be your own reviewer! It's nice when people agree with you, but sometimes you just have your little community, and they're the only ones who understand. There are people who wanted Valkyria Chronicles to be PS3 GOTY too. What matters is that we have these incredible games and we were here to experience them. And at least we can have an argument about PS3 GOTY, since earlier in the year everyone thought there wasn't going to be enough games at all. Now, every time I can actually afford some, I'm getting one awesome game after another and there's still more waiting in line.

Yes, MGS4 totally sucked. The graphics were only average, because I've seen better in other games like, uh... Disgaea 3. But seriously, if you can handle MGS1, then you can handle MGS4. I lost count of the times in MGS1 when I wanted Snake to lie down, and he stood up instead and got himself killed. MGS3 is actually harder to control than MGS4 due to utilizing so much pressure sensitivity with the buttons. I'd fire an AK-47 accidentally and set off an alarm because I pushed the square button a little too hard. So, as I recall, there was a learning curve for me in each of the MGS games before I was decent at them. If I was you, I would spend some time in the VR training room until I knew what I was doing with the controls. All you need to do is memorize which buttons do what, like any other game. It's just that the MGS games are unique compared to other games, not like COD4 where you can come from another FPS game and already know what you're doing.

I'm almost tempted to think you're trolling here, because there are so many things you can pull off to get through MGS4's levels other than using first person view. Anyway, I think it's fine if people don't like MGS4. The only thing that doesn't make sense is when people get the game and then they're surprised about the length of the cutscenes or that it's actually a stealth/action game. It's like you didn't watch any of the trailers, or maybe download the free demos from the PSN store (MGO demo and MGS4 demo). Don't buy it just because it's the GOTY!

Happy New Year! And welcome to 2009, the year of the PS3. I went out and bought Little Big Planet to celebrate, and Fallout 3 (saw that it has trophies now). It's going to be an awesome year.

Alright! I finally got a cheap Dynex USB keyboard for my PS3, so this is officially my first post using the PS3 browser. So, Navigata, I haven't encountered any bragging during PS3 multiplayer, and that's including my time with MGO, COD4 and GTA4. But on the PC, there's been some serious big mouthing. It started with World of Warcraft, which I stopped playing years ago, and then continued in Counter Strike: Source. The basics of how it happens is that I'll do something crafty or sneaky to take out the higher ranking players, and then they've got to defend themselves by calling me "lucky" or implying that I'm hacking. There's no hacking on the PS3, which is one of the reasons I'm strictly a PS3 gamer now. But if one of the good players ever got into a feud with me, they'd always rattle off about their kill/death ratio, or if they'd been a "cyber-athlete" in that CAL organization. I mentioned this in my blog post about PS3 trophies, but there is an easy way to put the whole bragging thing into perspective. I always ask if their kdr helps them pick up women when they go out (if they go out), and the conversation usually ends there. If someone is amazing at a particular game, I would just congratulate them like you'd congratulate a small child for making a finger painting of a flower. "Good job! Your mother will be proud." It doesn't have to be a big deal, even if you find their attitude to be unsavory--just keep killing them or foiling their schemes. If you continue to receive verbal attention from them, remind them that they're obsessing over you and have a good laugh. Or, add Laiphius to your PSN friends and call him in to do some serious damage to your enemies... because, you know, Laiphius pwns n00bs 24-7 and he's never even played a video game in his entire life until yesterday. It's just natural skill.

It depends on your monitor, but the one I have makes the games and movies look gorgeous. LG makes a great widescreen HDMI/VGA/Component monitor with PIP. I run my PS3, PS3 and PC through it. You can't go wrong with HDMI.
