Some TAA methods are still better, my opinion won't change on FSR. DLSS and Intel have far superior methods.

This is not FSR but FSR 2.0. They are not the same.

yep.. but he seems to think he already knows how it will perform and what it is

Another way to say that is he has a strong bias against it.

Swear Forza had loot boxes. Modern gaming is full of this shit and always will be.

You get free cars all around. Just by racing and having fun I have over 200 cars, I think it's close to 300 and I never spent a penny on microtransactions. I also have like 5 million in the bank and i'm not even trying. You're way off base here.

So, Sony has a $10 premium for no other reason but to con gamers.

To be fair Microsoft does this for certain games. That is you have to pay $10 to upgrade to the Series X/S version of it. I forgot which games I saw that are like this. This is a rare case and Microsoft is nowhere near as bad as Sony at this anti consumer practice but they still allow it.

Alot of these acquistions lately haven't made sense. Really the only one that was a "good deal" IMO was probably the Zenimax takeout at $7.5 Billion. Take Two just paid $13 Billion for Zynga (!!??). Almost double the Zenimax deal. I know mobile games are $$$, but geez. Zenimax had a ton of IP. Obviously MS's takeout of Activision is a big one, but $70 Billion? Effectively for Call of Duty and Blizzard? Valuation for Activision seems crazy even recognizing the cash cow Call of Duty is. Microsoft's own activity makes the Zenimax deal look like the bargain out of all this.

Sony probably overpaid relative to the IP they acquired, but it's a relatively tiny acquisition to shore up something they needed in their portfolio after MS's activity. Seems like a rational move, given their lack of shooters for the last few years. Now they have a developer with IP and instant expertise. Of course they will be relying on their next game being a pretty big hit, if it's a flop that will start looking like a bad deal.

I agree with you on everything I think. The Activision deal was too high but it was the best deal they could make. For some reason Ubisoft, Electronic Arts and Take Two were not for sale or the deal didn't make sense. This deal was doable and that's why they did it. Expensive and a bad deal but worth it in the end for Microsoft.

Sony's deal was a ripoff as well but they got it done and it was good for them to get Bungie. They took Bungie which made Microsoft's top franchise. It's huge bragging rights for Sony and they will benefit greatly from the acquisition I think. Two bad deals that were actually smart and good moves for both companies.

The Zenimax deal was a great deal as everyone has mentioned.

I hope the future is all multiplat or at least PC getting all the games because that's the most consumer friendly route we could head in.

There's a huge difference in Sony buying independent devs who already create games for them vs Microsoft buying a publisher with established IPs that have been multiplatform for the last three decades.

There is a huge difference in price and that is it.

Buying a studio already working with your company and creating a game for your platform is not the same as what they're doing. Unless you believe that yes of course, giant acquisitions of existing franchises is great for the industry. Monopolization is great for the industry. Microsoft is literally buying up the catalog of other big companies' games, like Activision and Bethesda, because their own internal studios can't create games that are competitive enough with Sony. Lol

What you wrote doesn't make sense. Microsoft now owns Activision and Zenimax, they are part of Microsoft's first party. How do you think Sony's first party studios grew? They bought them just in case you are having trouble.

😐 Seriously? This large acquisition shit is getting ridiculous and is NOT good for the industry. 😑

I made a thread about this and I was attacked because they said it was ridiculous. For years fanboys saying Microsoft has no games. I said this is going to end with them buying everything, I even wrote you'll see. Well here we are with them buying Zenimax and now Activision. Wait until they buy Ubisoft, Take Two and Electronic arts.

Playstation the one with all the games but they won't have Zenimax or Activision games going forward. This is terrible for the industry and super obvious it was going to happen with the toxic fanboys.

From Eurogamer

Mario Kart 9 in active development, industry consultant says • Eurogamer.net

'Mario Kart 9 is now in "active development" within Nintendo, according to Tokyo-based industry consultant Dr. Serkan Toto.

The continued sales success of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe had left many fans wondering if Nintendo was still planning an all-new Mario Kart for Nintendo Switch - or whether the platform would just be left with its hugely-popular Wii U port.

Writing on GamesIndustry.biz, Toto said Mario Kart 9 would include "a new twist" and could be ready to be shown this year.

Previous gimmicks in Mario Kart games have included dual racers (Double Dash!!), the introduction of motion controls (MK Wii), plus gliding (MK7) and anti-gravity sections (MK8).

Last year, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe officially overtook Mario Kart Wii to become the best-selling game in the series, with a whopping 38.74m copies shifted.

And then, it carried on selling. Over 2021's Black Friday weekend, Mario Kart 8: Deluxe was the best-selling boxed game in the UK, thanks to its inclusion in Nintendo Switch hardware bundles.'

-

Wonder what the twist is this time!

They should make it an open world Mario Kart like Forza Horizon. They should have different go carts to upgrade and purchase with money from winning races.

This is the worst idea I have ever seen. Congratulations!

It's a great idea. They can make it an adventure open world racing game with Forza Horizon and Diddy Kong Racing as inspirations.

Your ideas are garbage as usual. Mine would actual move the franchise forward to a must have revolution over it's stale Mario Kart roots.

Series S is perfect for the millions of kids and parents with 1080p TV's in their bedrooms.

I got one just for 60fps 360 games.

Not quite. It's also for those who's tvs are too small such as less than 80in living room or 65in bedroom average. And if your TV doesn't have VRR, 120 Hz, good quality HDR, then the Series S is for you because you won't notice the negligible difference that you will get with your limited display.

It's not if you have a 4k then you're good and ready for the Serious X. You can get a crappy 4k for cheap on sale. Not even close.

It’s a brilliant addition to gamepass ultimate at no extra cost. Streaming isn’t ready for mainstream gaming as is….but the ability to nearly instantly try a game to see if it’s worth downloading or buying is great.

Yes and I started this thread as someone who was against cloud gaming because I agree we're not ready to move in there fully at this point. I wasn't even ready to pay extra for it if it was offered as a paid feature but with it included I tried it and I love it being there and it is super useful.
