@RogerioFM: ...but that wasn't my sentiment. You clearly don't want a game, you want a movie or a game/movie hybrid. YOU should go watch a movie, not me. You asked me a question you knew i'd say no to, because it was my original argument to begin with. Your question had literally zero relevance to the discussion itself.

But fine, here's an answer that's sure to please you: No. This is a videogame, not a movie. I don't want to watch a movie, I payed for a videogame therefore I want to PLAY A VIDEOGAME! Without being constantly interrupted by dialogue and cutscenes that take me completely out of the experience from an interactive standpoint.

As for your last point, I really don't care if you agree or disagree with me. This is a discussion, we share your opinions and perspectives on things. If you agreed with me from the beginning, there would be no discussion.

@RogerioFM: "Why not watch a movie?" See I can't even answer your question. The answer is so obvious to me, that it'll just create unnecessary discussion.

Let's just agree to disagree...and admit BB is GOTY :P

@RogerioFM: Gaming has evolved, sure, and it will keep on evolving. Like every other industry out there. That's just how things are, but that doesn't mean it changes for the better. And I think story driven games are misguided.

I buy a game to play it. Not to press the same button repeatedly, while waiting for the characters to shut the hell up and for the game to give me control again. Taking away control from the player is bad, because what separates gaming as an art form is the fact you're in control. A book can tell you the main character is a hero with dialogue, a movie can show you the main character is a hero with visuals...but in a game you can FEEL it! You can experience it first hand, you don't need dialogue or cutscenes. Why is the inclusion of so many semantics necessary? It's not even a matter of filling the world of the game with story and context, because doing that devalues design aspects. Games like these literally STOP completely for some arbitraty story quest/moment/whatever.

Soulsborne games do it perfectly! You literally experience the world of the game, and the story behind it, in a non-intrusive way. You're given the option of knowing more about the story if you're interested in it, and to do it you have to defeat enemies, clear areas and collect every nook and cranny.

People who like story driven games have a pointt though, sometimes people just want a cinematic story. My argument for that is, like...why? Watch a movie.

I'm just ramblin' :P

@LPDisturbedHU: And yes, The Last of Us was a movie. That's why the GOTY award should've been given to Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

@G4mBi7: "The story is non existent"...you haven't played Bloodborne. Not to mention story doesn't matter.

And yes, 3 great games but BB is clearly better :P

@RogerioFM: To me, the very concept of a "story driven game" is immediately flawed. It's a game, so the gameplay has to take the center stage no matter what kind of game you're making. I'm not saying you have to get rid of story, or that story is a bad thing by default, incorporation is everything...and the Souls series nailed it, just like BB - it's incredibly deep and envolving, but it's your choice from the beginning. No game should force feed you s***loads of cutscenes and dialogue.

More content does not equal a better game. What matters is the content itself, and BB beats Witcher 3 in that regard in my opinion. But they're both great games, so I guess you have a point when it comes to which one is better in the end.
