^ Those are some awesome find, especially for a thrift store. I have given up on my local thrift shops (especially Goodwill) because they usually sell anything that isnt a sports game online so they can make more money. The last good thing I found at a thrift store was a complete copy of Zelda Collectors Edition on the GC, about 6-months ago I think.

Shenmue_Jehuty
I would not do that. I gave up on My good will and they had an Xbox 360 with 10 games for $100 in a box a person at the Wendy's brought. I asked him where he got it and he said the goodwill just now.

Get real.  There was nothing impressive about that crap.  Anyways, those PC centric developers just didn't want to lift a finger if the development platform wasn't x86.  A game not being on a system means it can't be ran is just as asinine.  Those latter games looked like crap too.

Keva820

Those two running on a measly 64 megs of RAM and Pentium 3 was pretty dang impressive if you ask me.

PC versions required atleast a Pentium 4 with 256 MB RAM to run any decently. (and a capable graphics card with pixel-shaders)

GameCube didn't have the RAM and the shading capabilities (normal mapping) to run them on a decent level.

I'm not even so sure if Wii was able to output better graphics than first Xbox due to a GPU based upon GC's.

And before you want to say that GC had better fill-rate and poly-counts - I don't really agree, Xbox's GPU could do up to 29 million polys (485k@60fps) while GC's could do up to 20 million polys (337k@60fps).

Xbox's GPU supported full DX 8.1 feature set (pixel shader 1.4) while GC's supported DX 7 feature set. (with some fixed-function shaders aka "TEV pipeline")

To say that Xbox couldn't handle GC's games like Resident Evil 4 and Rogue Leader in comparable graphics is just nonsense but GC would most likely have issues running several Xbox games.

Factor 5 said they tried running one of the RS games on the xbox and it didnt run well. The GC gpu could also do 8 textures per pass while the xbox can only do 4. Also the xbox shaders took a hit on performance bringing the gpu down closer to the GC.

Kasilla you don't seem to realize that there in none of that matters. In order for the GC to get graphics as good as a medium grade Xbox game, the GC would already be having multiple hits on its performance. Look at how the GC is designed to run its CPU and GPU in games. It's not going to work. I am not saying that the XBOX had a 500 year gap from the Gamecube, but you are applying logic to the Xbox that is also true for the Gamecube in cases but ignoring them on the Gamecube.

Them having a consisten low end console equaling cheaper game development is the only reason. To be honest it's no longer Nintendo market, they are just the top "dedicated" handheld for portable gaming.

nameless12345

People seem to forget the economics of game developing with Handhelds. Yes, the Vita is impressive spec wise but the problem is that game development for the Vita are much higher than the 3DS. So why waste resources on making games with a low install base when they can save a buck making games for the 3DS?

FireEmblem_Man

Both these statements are truth.

Handhelds don't really need power to be successful, things like cheaper price, portability, long battery life and big selection of games are much more important, which explains why Nintendo didn't get run-over by much more powerful competitors.

I mean, who wouldn't like a color handheld over a black/yellow/greenish one? ;)

But people prefered a cheaper system with more games, smaller form-factor and longer battery life...

At the same time, a lot of those same competitors were not prepared. The only ones that made a profit I remember are the Lynx and the Wonderswan9which was JP only and actually did well against the GB brand there.)

games far from a piece of shit, it's alot harder than the most recent megaman titles however as the levels are packed with traps and enemies.

For Free you really can't go wrong on this anyway, the fact It's just plain better than what capcom has been offering is mind boggling.

Compared to what? What is it better than that Capcom is offering?

Megaman 9 and 10 for starters.

Well you already lost all credibility. As I said, nostalgia is making you ignore the clearly obvious flaws. I don't think 9 and 10 where that good, Capcom had a alot issues that were right there when trying to imitate their older games (which they also includes some of their issues in the games as well.) but MMU has tons of bad decisions in its design. Yes it's free, but that would not fly as a game people would buy unlike 9 and 10. Despite meh those two games are, the devoted fan would still by them. When there was a rumor about it costing money(which they really can't do anyway) people flipped out (this was AFTER release, it was rumored to become a paid game.) on a lot of Megaman sites. But there we go, there is no use convincing you to actually look at the game as it is so there's no reason to further go into it.

[QUOTE="Yo-SUP"]The game is a piece of crap that has terrible issues, and only people with Megaman nostalgia will overlook them. I have seen fans play this game getting frustrated with so many bad decisions and still saying it's the best Megaman game since 3. I would rather play Battle Network 4 three times in a row in one sitting.ReadingRainbow4

It's funny because for the first half of this gen Capcom was basically considered a top 5 dev

Silverbond
No they weren't. Capcom was getting its negative status around 2006 when they started with next gen hardware.

Brah, I can't help it if your memory is faulty

Brah, even doing simple research in 10 seconds would show you are wrong. You're memory is faulty.

[QUOTE="MonsieurX"]Yet,GeOW and Halo both outselling Uncharted and TLOUStrongBlackVine

Gears doesn't outsell Uncharted and TLOU will likely outsell any of the 4 Gears.

How does it not? I mean sales don't matter, but then, you have posts like this that are just made for no reason. How about this threads gets locked, what kind of management is this?
