[QUOTE="ACx7"]This topic was not about Call of Duty. This topic was about Battlefield. God forbid you people defend Battlefield without putting down CoD.blueboxdoctor
Agreed. This thread is mainly going to attract BF fans to oppose the comment that it could be overrated. Most people who don't like it won't have played it for long, and as such probably won't bother giving their oppinion.
I really think it has become cool to hate CoD, and it seems some BF fans have to slate CoD to justify their preference to BF - not sure why! I prefer MW but do not slate BF, it's just not for me. And most people who hate CoD are because they aren't very good and get frustrated playing it. There are some unbalanced elements in MW2 but they can usually be countered by another weapon, or peak. And it's not like everyone can't chose the same weapons, you may just have to change your setup to counter someone if it helps you to win the game. If you aren't prepared to change your approach in different games then you clearly have the wrong tactics.
This is pretty much what it's turned into. However, when you're playing MW@ and the opposing team ends up calling in an airstrike, having a plane in the air shooting everyone with a machine gun, a helicopter doing the same, and having people noobtubing it up the game can get rather annoying. Granted, this usually isn't the case, but I can see if this is happened the majority of the time someone played MW2 then it can basically just turn you off the game. I'm a fan of BC2 and MW2 online mainly because they're meant to play differently than each other.
Like I said before, BF isn't overrated, it's just the COD haters falling back on it as their reason that COD is horrible to them. I think BF3 and MW3 will both get between an 8.5 and a 9 (at least on GS). Sure, MW3 has the preorders rolling in, but from what I can tell that's only because so many people preferred MW2 of BO (which I've yet to play) and want more of what they liked from that game. Not to mention MW and COD in general has some of the greatest video game marketing this gen. So basically, it's the BF elitists that just like to talk up BF, which doesn't mean it's a bad game or anything, it's just more the fanboys that are annoying. Actually, BC2 has had the most gamebreaking problem for me this gen, and that is the servers which kick me off after 3.5 minutes every single online game, so I can no longer play online (DICE better fix this for BF3, afterall, it's supposed to be COD's main competition).
All good points - nice to see someone else who is open-minded, and approached the subject without bias! :)
