[QUOTE="Youles"]*Touches wood* My replacement has lasted 3 years and still going,MarcRecon

Same, but to the TC every case is gonna be different so keep an open mind.

What do you mean by TC and Keep an open mind? I was just saying how long mine has lasted? As the Wi-Fi Board or Antenna appears to have borken I suspect other things might start to break. This might not happen, and doesn't not mean it will happen to someone else.

Working on Dead Nation Platinum and Uncharted 2 Platinum...then it's back to LA Noire (possible Platinum) and Borderlands!

I also have started playthroughs of Dead Space and Uncharted in the attempt to get Platinums.

Mine has an annoying problem...I think it's the Wi-Fi Board as I get 7.2Mb internet speed via Ethernet, but when using Wi-Fi I get anything from 0.4Mb to 5.8Mb, it goes up and down.

It's not the channel, or IP as other PS3s in the house get a solid 7.2Mb and they are all NAT Type 2.

Gonna have to do a repair job! To be fair I've played 30+ days on MW2 alone, and must have downloaded hundreds of gb of data. Manual repair job me thinks!

It's a FAT 60gb PS3 that was replaced by Sony after getting the YLOD in 2008.

Trophy card...although it's pretty weak compared to some, although I think it's the quality of the Platinums not the quantity. What's the hardest, W@W was pretty damn frustrating at times?

I can't say for sure but I suspect BF3 is slightly overhyped - EA have been clever and started by only releasing high-end PC screen-shots, and built on that. However I suspect the console reality to be very different.

I hope I'm wrong as I'm buying BF3 and MW3, but I suspect a lot of people will buy BF3 however some people could actually be dissappointed. The max players on console has been cut from 64 to 24 compared to PC, and the maps made smaller too, and the graphics won't be close to the PC versions.

yeah, i say if you really want this game you might as well get it for a pc, especially when consoles are getting smaller teams and maps, i'm skipping bf3 and just going with modern warfare 3 as i'm not really into military shooters and call of duty is just arcadey goofy fun

Yeah, I'm happy with the MW formula. And for me personally, I like the MW class setup, I didn't like the BF2 restricted class thing. I shall give BF3 a go though and have preordered both.

Just a heads up - most retailers online such as Amazon and Play.com state whether the HDD is compatible with PS3....which just makes things a little easier!

[QUOTE="Youles"][QUOTE="natenation87"]

God I am sick of these threads always comparing the COD games to the BF games. They're very different and both are fun to play. Sick of hearing all the hate at COD too.If you don't like it (or BF) don't play it. I enjoy playing both and will probably get both but I can't say for sure, because I don't know if they're any good.

I wish some people would just play the one they enjoy and let others enjoy the one they like and stop insulting each other like 10 year olds.

natenation87

I know - people say it's kids who play MW yet it seems that the BF followers/players slate MW/CoD and not the other way around - that seems childish to me! I am looking forward to both, since I'm a fan of FPS, however I anticipate that I will enjoy MW3 more. That is not fact, as BF3 might surprise me, but I haven't written it off, I've kept an open mind, and it doesn't not involve me slating it just because I think I will prefer MW3. It seems kids troll these forums.

Pretty much the way I feel too. Though I enjoy them both pretty much equally. :) Hey do you mind if I add you as friend on PSN?

Sure, no problem - ID is obviously Youles :)

Oh yeah - as the last person suggested try it with and without patches!

Also, did you recently install the DLC (Challenge Chambers I think)? I remember starting the main story, then buying and installing the DLC before completing the main story, then my save files wouldn't load. I could only continue my campaign if I deleted the DLC. This might have been patched but there were definitely known problems.

Good luck

I do think Bioshock does have some freezing issues, but not as bad as Fallout 3!

If you do decide to get a new PS3 (or for reference anyway) you can copy across Saved Data via USB, or via a complete System Backup and Install - although the latter doesn't work for all games (such as Need For Speed and Resident Evil 5). However it might be work buying a short-term PlayStation Plus subscription just so you can use the Save Data Cloud to transfer Saved Data from one PS3 to the new PS3, so you would still have your Saved Game+ file.
