wow, when i went to check my rating that i left on mp1 i got really scared when i saw a 9.7, but that was gs' rating ::phew::
only jerks leave high ratings, because as we all know, all games have flaws, when a game comes out that deserves a ten or close i'll let you know, in a big way
also i'm really afraid that i have a problem with nostalgia, as much as i hate it and am afraid of it, i can't get away from it. all i really want to play are old games. and it's not true that there aren't any good new games, but they all seem so generic, excepting the franchises i know and love. to an outsider of a series, it seems like there are a million of a series' games, but in fact, usually there really aren't that many, and they are pretty varied. I just don't have the time or money to play many new games. something about realistic games piss me off too. Like WWII games, there are like a million of them, and it seems like they're just trying to be more and more realistic. I know that people won't be able to experience combat like this in real life, but i just don't get it. I want to play games that are fantastic and unreal, (not unreal tho) the more unrealistic, while remaining tasteful, the better I say. Look at the AC series, when Another Age came out, and subsequent PS2 titles, they just tried to make the ACs more and more lifelike, I say the stupid physics of the first gen games were so much more fun. maybe this is why i like older games, it seems like newer gaming audiences are less and less hardcore and want gaming experiences that are immediate and provide instant gratification. For me, all theseĀ titles sortof melt together.
Games with similar names don't help either.
When I actually start playing a game tho, i usually do have fun, but it's so hard for me to motivate myself to do so. I need a game with a rich history and that provides me with familiarity and the ability to become proficient with it. This sucks because companies I like such as Nintendo prefer Quality over Quantity. Which leads me to believe that possibly I just have to accept that I can't have both.
In conclusion, my tendency to play older games comes from the fact that anything old has established a reputation for itself, and that investing in the game isn't really a risk. It's understood that an old game is either phenomenal or horrible or somewhere in between. I only like extremely good games or games catering to the hard-core like AC and playing older games allows me both of these. I just thank god that I wasn't a teenager in the early to mid eighties and had to live through the arcade explosition and it's subsequent death. i take that back, i would give anything to be a teenager in the early to mid eighties (what's wrong w/ me?!)

does anyone else get up at 8am to watch beast wars and kaiju big battle? i know i don't
but sometimes when i'm sick or can't sleep or getting up real early to eat a big breakfast (sometimes such breakfasts last 2 hours) i'll turn on the tube and wish that the live action transformers movie was already out.
Also, the DS lite isn't out yet, and i really don't want to wait for june for it! it better come out mid-may and i better get a job at game-crazy real soon so i can grow my hair long enough for a ponytail and just pour grease in it in the morning and have real bad breath and act real real arrogant towards the kids that come into MY store
