@Meta-Gnostic @uncle5555 @Cowboy-Bebop It isn't like the ending to an epic game or a movie for god's sake. It is a game that literally takes less than 1 hour to beat (the original). If you really are taking a stance on this one, I truly pity you. Besides, there are no guarantees that the game will even be remotely close to the same ending anyway. Based on the screenshots, it looks like only the name and possibly that it is a sidescroller are about the only thing they have in common.
@Cowboy-Bebop How is mentioning the ending to a game that is almost 30 years old moronic? You are a moron if you think that the ending will be exactly the same.
@Wahab_MinSeo @snaketus @jmr1986 @IllegallyAwesum Just because you can attach a gamepad or a keyboard/mouse to a phone doesn't make it a viable solution. I swear tech people insist upon doing things just because they can, and not necessarily because it is a good thing or idea. Hell, I can ride a skateboard from L.A. to San Diego, but why would I?
@Wahab_MinSeo DICE doesn't make "Modern Combat 3" and even if they did, they would not develop it solely for a mobile device. I think DICE merely wants to see their game engine used around a new IP for mobile devices. I don't know why anyone would want to play a shooter on a small screen like a phone anyway. It is hard enough to see enemies in the distance on a 27" monitor at times without a scoped rifle.
So, no thanks. I'll skip watching someone play "Modern Combat 3" on a phone. Developing a game for a mobile device that requires a mouse and keyboard kinda defeats the purpose of playing a mobile game anyway. Imagine playing an arcade racing game where you sit in a chair that has a steering wheel and shifter, complete with pedals, but you are viewing a small 5" screen. Kinda defeats the purpose.
@prionus Absolutely you should. I don't think most gamers under 30 have played the original XCOM, though it is available on Steam for only a few bucks.
@Xpyder @Joeguy00 Fallout 3 is one of my favorite games of all time. I think it is safe to say that between Pong, Atari, NES to present gaming PC, it is safe to say that I have played over 1000 games, so making it into my favorites is hard to do. I am not sure what you don't like about Fallout 3 (and presumably FO:NV), but I think it was pulled off very well, and was a great departure from the other installments. How many Jagged Alliance, Xcom, insert other TBS game here, games can you play before you want something new?
@SwiftusMaximus Yeah, kinda sad that a PC game is not coming back to the PC. I remember the game being in my computer class in grade school. There were only 2 floppies that said Karateka on them. So I naturally finished my assignments early to get my hands on one of em! It took me about 3-4 attempts to figure out that if you don't want the girl to kick you in the nuts, you have to walk up to her and lose the fighting stance...lol.
@picho86 I liked the bigger squads because you could take some casualties. If you only have 4-6 squaddies, 1 dies and your force is already 16-25% smaller. You also tend to get attached to your most experienced soldiers, so you will never accept any of their deaths and will revert to a previous save. I kinda liked the attrition part of it, and this seems to take that away.
