Everything seems to fit and be good, there's a couple of things I'd like to point out though. It will be an extremely nice rig, but do you really need that sound card? It's pretty expensive, and won't do you much good without a nice headset of even better speakers. Also keep in mind that the soundcard will probably cause higher temps on the GPUs, it will be a pretty tight package down there. And in a rig with this hardware, I would definitely get 8GB RAM. Or are you getting two of those 4GB kits? If you think of doing that, it would be wiser to get a 2x4GB kit, because 4 modules can cause trouble with an aftermarket cooler if you get a larger one. And you should get a good cooler for the CPU btw :) The price on that PSU seems overkill especially since it's a really unknown brand at least for me. A Corsair or Seasonic 850W unit would power anything you throw at it for less money. *I actually googled the powersupply, it has bad reviews so you should absolutely NOT get it.spittis

Thank you so much for all of the help! I will definitely get the 8gb of RAM (the 2x4GB). The sound card I was getting is going to be from a buddy, along with the power supply. Are you suggesting that I just use the onboard sound on the motherboard instead to avoid having problems in the future?

I will also get a different power supply. It may sound naive, but i didn't know there could different qualities to power supplies. I just thought they all did the same thing :P

One more thing...the stock cooler for the cpu is not good? I'm kind of worried about installing an aftermarket cooler! I'll get through it though I guess :P

I had another thread wondering if I was paying too much for a pre-built computer and the answer was a overwhelming yes.

I have built a computer (sort of) on new egg along with some parts I may be able to scavenge off of a buddy.

I was just over at the ibuypower website and i customized a pc that i think is pretty good.

Only thing I am worried about is if I am paying too much of a premium or not.

Can you guys look at my build and see if there are some things that i selected that were not needed?

I am trying to build a nice gaming computer that will last me for at least 3 - 4 years..if that is reasonable.

Let's bash an optional service on the PS3 that some people actually find value in :roll:

It's funny to me how people who support Xbox Live come here saying how PSN+ is a rental service and a rip and yet those very people have to pay to even play their games online, which is ridiculous. If a person likes PSN+, they will continue to subscribe to the service...essentially keeping whatever content they download. I wouldn't say that is renting, because there is no expecatation of "giving the content back".

Secondly, whether you like Magic 2012 or not, the fact that someone out there likes it and can save $2 or $3 is a deal. The same applies to other games. Also, free downloads of Killzone 3 DLC and such are very welcome. Value is relative, so I really don't see how this is hard to understand.

Last, xbox live users pay $60 and all that gets you is basically the ability to play online (netflix, hulu plus, etc. not withstanding). PSN+ offers you DLC, themes, PS minis, betas, full game trials, and etc. for the same amount of money. You don't have to be scrooge to see the difference.

And the best part is that it is optional.

Xbox Live is a good service; don't get me wrong. I have an account because all of my friends play Xbox. I am just saying you cannot ignore the value PSN+ brings and try to bash it. It really makes no sense.

Until you play the game, I think the smartest route is to avoid judgement. Gameplay videos, betas, reviews and such provide insight, but it's not the end all be all.
