Some of you are missing something else I said. I don't hate CS:S because it isn't like COD:UO. As far as realism, I play Red Orchestra Ostfront which in terms of realism, blows CS:S out of the water. I don't even consider CS:S realistic at all from what I've seen. It's all run and gun and bunnyhopping.

It has nothing to do with "skill".  People get good at games by playing them, I know that.  I just don't like anything about these games.

Unpolished? One of the main reasons I always kept coming back to both games over the years is because they ARE polished.

Excellent games. Then again, I hate CoD, UO, and CoD2 multiplayer so I guess we just like different games.

My suggestion is just play them until you get a bit better. Day of Defeat: Source is especially fun, and I play it daily.

I will admit that DOD:S is a better game in my opinion. I may give it another chance, but CS:S is horrible.

I'm not trying to bash something that so many people like, I just don't see the appeal of these games.  I'm not looking for realism as Call of Duty UO is my favorite multiplayer game.  There's just something very unpolished about thse games.

I was looking for something new and decided to purchase Counterstrike Source, Day of Defeat Source and Half Life 2 Deathmatch.  I'm not familiar with CS:S and DOD:S but they're very popular so I assumed that they would be fun, big mistake.  The gameplay is HORRIBLE and the presentation is also below standards.  Am I alone here, or do other people not like these games?

Try Counterstrike 1.6, Counterstrike Source, Day of Defeat, and Day of Defeat Source.smokeydabear076

I was leaning towards Counterstrike since I'm currently playing Half Life 2 and like the gameplay.

The only games I play online are Call of Duty UO and Red Orchestra Ostfront.  I've tried Battlefiend 2, Battlefield 2142 and Call of Duty 2 but just didn't like the gameplay.

What multiplayer FPS do you reccomend?
