You know, I used to fear the system heat like you all do but I got myself an Elite and you better believe I was nervous as all get out turning it on.  I play about 5-6 hours a day right now (its summer vacation and I am moving into my new apartment on friday, alot of downtime I'm afraid...all friends are still away at college).  The machine does NOT get that hot.  I can testify, my first day I played for 6 hours solid.  When I was done I took the disc out, put my hand on the machine and it was warm, put it behind the machine and some warm air was coming out.  That's what all the holes are for btw.  But call me crazy, it just wasn't that warm.  Keep in mind that I have my 360 on a wooden coffee table for now, and the power brick as well, completely ventilated (the brick barely gets warm that is NOT the problem.)  So if you keep your machine ventilated, it won't fail.  I'm convinced that the breaking 360's rants are all fanboys.TheSystemLord1

The Elite just came out a couple of days ago. Give it some time and then we'll know for sure. By time, I mean at least a good 4-7 months

Being that I'm older (much older than most here), I would like more stuff from the 70s - Jimi Hendrix should've been the first one since the series started.

On a side note, I don't believe that anyone above 16 years old would much enjoy having the emo/death/etc...type metal as heard by kids today....

Most stuff today has no real talent or special magic to make a song godly. Sorry to bum some out, but this is my true opinion shared by many. I understand if you don't agree....maybe in a couple of years you will? :D

^^ you do have a valid point...but with certain legislations, it may be feasible to have some adequate leverage.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070430/ap_on_hi_te/mind_reading_toys

Article talks about a new device that enables gamers to control games with their minds.

Excerpt:

...While NeuroSky's headset has one electrode, Emotiv Systems Inc. has developed a gel-free headset with 18 sensors. Besides monitoring basic changes in mood and focus, Emotiv's bulkier headset detects brain waves indicating smiles, blinks, laughter, even conscious thoughts and unconscious emotions. Players could kick or punch their video game opponent - without a joystick or mouse. The 30-person company hopes to begin selling a consumer headset next year, but executives would not speculate on price. A prototype hooks up to gaming consoles such as the Nintendo Wii, Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360.

So....maybe we'll be able to chainsaw people with only our minds in Gears of War 2????

"Focus Daniel-San!!!"

my gripe is that the game got awefully repetitive...so having new characters that basically play the same is not an incentive to buy.
