I don't think Rey would have won the rumble. Batista would have lost it to Eddie then Eddie would face rEyy at WM but not as the mainevent. Kurt wouldn't come to Smackdown.Kotenks
Well, ONE of the main events.

Yeah I knew that you'd be there and also there are several other people on the board who are wanting to see this match happen.... I personally can't wait for this even to happen and if this is true, I WILL be ordering the ppv.
Wait.... now that i think about it.... This IS awesome news, but at the same time, it pretty much tells us that JBL will get a hefty run with the belt. :( Even if Batista does take the belt when he returns, we'll still have to endure ANOTHER JBL/Batista feud.
That is true, but also we have no idea what the plans are for the KOTR winner (hopefully it'll be Booker T cause Lashley or Finlay winning doesn't sit right with me). At the same time, we haven't heard any news about a draft happening this year (which it probably won't) but I think with the way SD! has been crippled as of late, you would think WWE would try to do something to help out their other brand.
I'd say Lashley is the most likely of the three. The KOTR has been a time honored springboard for upcoming talent that's being pushed or Golden Boys like Austin and HHH. With all the mainplayers out of the picture, this is Lashley's time to realy step it up.

[QUOTE="_Muta"]If Eddie were still alive we wouldn't be having this disscussion. He would have been world champion up until Wresltemania and lost it to Orton as it was originally planned.[QUOTE="strongzysk"][QUOTE="_Muta"]If only Eddie were still alive..... Eddie/Taker could've been something awesome.mrgab
Actually, i'm pretty sure Mysterio would've gotten it. Back in early 2005, reports were going around that Rey was in line for a huge push. And that sort of came to frution when Rey was included in several rat races for the world title as well as being put over 38983847874 times by Eddie. I read a note back in August from a reliable newsletter (99% sure it was the Torch) that there was talk of Eddie/Rey as a potential main event, which was obviously scrapped for Orton/Batista. Throw in Orton's backstage attitude which prevented him from getting the belt this year anyway and it's a pretty believable scenario.
The main reason Rey was given the title was because of Eddie's passing. Dedicating every match to him with all the fans chanting Eddies name. WWE took full advantage of it all. More than likely would be having Eddie vs Benoit vs Angle for the title. Now that would be great.
In the events that actually played out, yes. However, i think it's pretty likely that Rey would've gotten the belt if Eddie HADN'T passed away. Hell, if the guy could convince someone that JBL was main event material, Rey wouldn't have been a hard case at all.
Ugh, the lameness of this finish to the article nearly knocked me over.[QUOTE="hbk91"]Jim Ross’ dream begins again Monday night on RAW in Anaheim. And you can bet HE’LL BE WALKING A MUDHOLE AND STOMPING IT DRY! The_Dude14
Still, its one of two right moves WWE has made this week. #1 was they dropped Coach. JR should have never been removed in the first place and they sure as hell shouldn't have treated him the way they did on the way out.
Wait whoa whoa..... Coach is out of the booth?
[QUOTE="_Muta"]As long as it's just Hunter and Shawn, i'm all for it.DirtyDarren
I agree with that, although I don't know if I can look at Shawn the same way I did then, what with his receeding hairline and all. They should totally have Edge and Lita join their ranks....
Nah, i'm loving Edge as the top heel. HHH and Edge play off each other too well during promos where they're opposed.
[QUOTE="_Muta"]As long as it's just Hunter and Shawn, i'm all for it.hatecenaWhy? Then it would be boring. Plus, DX is a STABLE, not a tag team.
Who ever said stables couldn't be comprised of just two people?
DX was at its best with just Hunter and Shawn because it was basically their real life friendship and chemistry shining through their segments, vignettes, promos, etc. And because of that, their antics were more funny, plain and simple. From the D-X Presidential Address to the whole feud with slaughter, their wasn't one moment that went unmemorable.
I didn't hate the second DX, but looking back on it, it did kind of lose something once Shawn left. It felt a tad watered down and alot of the so called "classic" segments were lame and overrated. Am i the only who didn't think the Nation of Impersonation segment was funny at all?
I was never a fan of D-X...and really without the additions of Chyna,Road dogg,Billy Gunn or X-Pac the stable would be rather useless. manhunt1001
DX was at its best without those losers.
