Actually, I know theres HDMI to DVI, and the monitor is HDCP supportive, but can I send non hdmi signals through a hdmi cable? If so I think that would be perfect.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001094 If so, or not, how do I tell if it can? It says Connectivity Input Video Compatibility Analog RGB, Digital Connectors D-Sub, DVI-D D-Sub 1 DVI 1 HDMI No Now I know ps3's can output hdmi, but this monitor isnt high def so it doesn't matter. Also ps3's can output composite and component cables, but how do I find out if there's holes in this monitor for those cables? Or is there some sort of adaptor that can change component to d sub or something? Fhanks

youtube vids shouldn't slow it down that much, unless you are on a phone line. average youtube vid is only a megabyte big. He most likely has bit torrents running and that sort of thing that he is sharing files with thus clogging your net connection. because.... that was the case when I couldn't play online computer games and when my brother had his own computer here.

Put the motherboard in a microwave on 7, for 3 seconds. It should zap your parts back to life sort of like shock paddles do. However, I just came up with this idea, so it might not be the correct thing to do.

Well then, I think I have enough to expand easily, besides, also it's my parents money :-) They said they would be completely fine with buying me a new computer for college. Monitors also are really expensive :-( At least I know I won't be running out of RAM every 5 minutes like I do now when developing software.

So whats that 2.0 thing all about. Some say 2.0 some don't. Edit: I googled it, but it says that sometimes 2.0 cards don't work on 1.0 motherboards...

[QUOTE="__Sniper_28_"][QUOTE="mastershake575"][QUOTE="__Sniper_28_"]So basically because I don't have a uber graphics card yet that it is a waste?mastershake575
Um no because you got highend ram/motherboard and you won't overclock. Thats kinda the reason people buy those parts and you could get a much cheaper case to cool your system. There's lots of waste in that computer even the video card because it can't utilize 512mb of VRAM

Pretty sure I said nothing about overclocking... ?"

That exactly true but its you still wasting money either ways........ If your not overclocking then your wasting money on highend ram/motherboard and if you are overclocking your wasting about $150 on just the cpu. Its a lose lose situation. As for video card this comes to around $100 after the rebate http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130333 the problem is you probaly wouldn't go back to playing you ps3 because it would destroy it in performance and you would realize that hacks aren't that big of a deal anymore thanks to online pc communites that are alot stricter/better than the ps3's community

Thanks for the video card, I'll prob switch to that, however, it requires PCI Express 2.0 16x, and I don't think my motherboard does 2.0... which I didn't even know there was this 2.0 thing... will I need a new motherboard? And about the hacks, I remember playing Joint operations and just getting ripped apart by hacks, obvious hacks too. It's so common that people online, even on the offical servers, talk about where to get hacks and pretty much everyone uses hacks now so that it is "even". Seems like the longer a game is out, the more hacks there will be. President IFV ect...
