@alex33x: my point was that this is not a new development coming out of nowhere and that it’s faithful to the original comics. I haven’t seen the sales -but then again most people haven’t either and I don’t see how this is relevant, except maybe for someone trying to move the goalpost.
@apnance: Saying that something is sh*t with absolutely no explanation is not an opinion. It shows an intention to mislead, i.e. it’s dishonest, almost by definition.
@alex33x: So how do you explain that TVision reported that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was the most-viewed series of April 2021 across measured platforms, being viewed nearly 40 times more than the average series measured by the service? https://variety.com/vip/data-the-falcon-and-the-winter-soldier-bests-all-netflix-amazon-tv-series-in-april-1234966699/
Too bad Falcon & Winter Soldier was such a mediocre show that seemingly few people watched
Opinion? I remember reading that 1.7 million US households tuned in for the first episode, and the fact that the show got a second season would seem to indicate it wasn't the failure some people claim it to be.
The show also covered so much Marvel lore (Isaiah Bradley, Power Broker, Madripoor, US Agent, Val, etc) and made us care about Sam and Bucky more than all the previous movies did. Sure, the Flag-Smashers part was weak due to most of their scenes being left on the cutting floor as a result of the pandemic, but saying that the show was mediocre with no other comments is just dishonest.
@alex33x: You seem to not be aware that in the comics, Sam already took Cap's mantle 7-8 years ago, and that Isaiah Bradley bore the name Captain America in the 40's, as revealed about 20 years ago in the Truth mini-series and subsequent comics.
@PETERAKO: Because Steve Rogers/Captain America wasn't born as a propaganda official during WW2 and isn't known for reminding the audience about the values he stands for basically half of the time he's on the page?
@PrpleTrtleBuBum: Maybe you weren't born or too young back in 1999 when it was announced that Hugh Jackman had been cast as Wolverine but fans were pissed off, sending complaints via letters and emails (yep, that's how we did it before social media) to Marvel and Fox to basically get him "canceled." Forget about the accent, fans were up in arms about Jackman not looking anything like Wolverine, the more obvious part being that the actor was an entire foot taller (6'3" instead of 5'3") than the comic book character. Hugh had also never read a comic book and thought that a wolverine was a fictional animal.
@lionheartssj1: @lionheartssj1: I see, so they’re making a judgement without knowing the facts, as usual. I guess I never realized that The Witcher, Daredevil, Narcos, Punisher, Jessica Jones, Altered Carbon, Luke Cage, Stranger Things, House of Cards, and so many more Netflix shows were “woke” but alright…
