personally I think the main villains from Final Fantasies 5-9 (5: exdeath, 6: kefka, 7:sephiroth, 8:ultimecia, 9: kuja) were all very well defined, they actually seemed like they could be real evil psychos or calculating villains rather than the main villains in SOME games I can think of.
