Personally I hate the neverwinter nights engine. The witcher story is alright but vampires seems much more engaging. If you patch bloodlines to take away the bugs and forget about the attrcious ending I think it is by far the better game.

I am sure you can use a controlller but I think you would be at a huge disadvantage in episode 2. You really need the precision of the mouse for some of the combat scenes.

The reason people hate half-life is because its on top and everyone wants to support David not Goliath. Personally I thought half-life 2 was really overrated. It was way shorter than the original. It featured good but not stunning graphics compared to games like far cry. It was very linear which can be good or bad. Lastly, despite being sold as an FPS its really more of a puzzle game. I remeber the jail scene in particular as lacking the need for any skill or strategy. Finally, and I think most people will at least agree here, it had a poor ending. Or rather no ending at all which makes sense if you want to sell a bunch of expansion packs but isn't going to win you much praise from fans.

NFS Prostreet is not very good at all. I own both but if I was you I would get Test Drive Unlimited. Its a pretty cool premise and while you can't customize your car to the level of NFS, the gameplay is much better and less arcadeish.

I am not a big online fps person but when I play them I play tf2, Its has more strategy than most of its competition. Its easy to find servers and there are a lot of good custom maps made. Other than that its sort of up to your taste. Its cartoony so that could be a plus or minus for you. It takes some time to play well but its not as impossible as counter-strike where you are going up against someone whose made a career of playin it.

SimTower for me. It was the first real pc game I bought and I really loved it but nowadays no one cares about creating quality sim/strategy games

I know i am asking a stupid question here but have you tried both the superstar and the deluxe cd or just one of them. The sims used to only let you play with the newest version. If you bought both games legitimately have you registered them or even one? If so I think I would email ea tech support. They are ussually very helpful although not particularly quick.

This is, at last, a serious racing game on serious tracks with serious cars. Not about - "Who get's that hot **** homie!" Citing the marvelous words of Gamespot member scarcy: "The period of the ricer [sic!] with their neon lights is over. "

I hope I'm not the only one sharing this opinion.

I haven't played prostreet yet but I personally loved carbon. I like being able to roam around a whole city and flee the cop. Most of all I loved being able to customize my cars inlcuding the neon loghts :) Just one opinion but I liked the series the way it was

I think most people agree here that the only graphic card worth buying right now is some sort of GeForce 8800. They make 5 different types so look online and see which one you can afford. Personally I have a 8800 gts with 640 mb of memory. I would pass on the 320 mb memory one since the price difference isn't that great and also they just came out with a new one to replace the 320 mb card which performs much better in comparison testing.

If your lokking for a complex game then avoid Railroads!. It is painfully simplistic. Perssonally I think that Railroad tycoon 3 is by far the best. I prefered the complexity although it is by no means overly complex. I would read the reviews if I was you but seriously Railroads! was a pretty poor attempt and I would avoid it.
