@Xristophoros: To sell enough units to have a steady amount of support from the developers and ensure the development of future iterations of the hardware. Obviously the software is really important as well, but at a high price point it will scare users and developers equally.
Makes sense, The E3 demo had some good ideas but also looked like the game was in the early stages of development. By the way, Nier most probably will be also pushed to 2017; but in my opinion that game will be realesed sooner than Scalebound.
