well, steam is a far reach

definately give Game Maker a try,

the definate place to start is learn C++

once you know C++ there are a few game engines that you can download and edit - aka making a great base for a new game.

when you host a server, there are a few things you need to do for it to be seen in the outside world:

1.) run a dedicated server (then it gets added to the right list)

2.) open a port in your router

3.) set up a static ip

its not really simple, but google it for more information

I haven't played a good flying game in a while - anyone know any new flying games??

looks like I need to go demo hunting then save up some cash.
