im glad that publishers and devs and such are finally starting to listen to consumers, as annoying as it is from the retail side of things, the consumer is always right because the consumer is paying your bills

people who are going to pirate games are going to pirate games... alienating legitimate gamers makes the problem worse.. publishers: get rid of your stupid drm, let me put a game on my desktop AND my laptop without giving me bs about it, let me play at my cottage without internet all summer. dont forget that the consumers decide wheither you eat or not, hurting us will only hurt yourselves :) happy gaming

i agree that videogame addiction is a real thing and a real problem, but i tend to feel that the symptoms of depression and such are probably what is causing people to play more then 20 hours a week, its not the games causing the depression. a depressed person will always look for an escape from their life and videogames provide that feeling that youre somewhere else away from your troubles. i also feel that all this time spent researching would be better used trying to get at the root problems that cause people to play games too much instead of just figuring out what to do with them once theyve let it become a serious problem.. but thats just the way things are handled in our world
