I hope this new studio can make some great RTSs just like Ensemble did.

Isn't Microsoft the owner of the Age of Empires and Age of Mythology IPs ?

Sadly, yes. MS won't do a damn thing with either of them.

All I know is that my LAUNCH PS1 still works perfectly fine, as well as my 4 year PS2 slim. Also the problems 360 has had in its life cycle is far worse then any issues PS1 or PS2 ever had.

Killzone 2 is flat out the best looking console game there is. The combination of the character and weapon models, the lighting/shadows, and environments make the game look amazing. Also everything i've seen and read shows me that the game plays excellent as well. While other games like Resident Evil 5 look fantastic as well, they don't even come close to to the level of atmosphere Killzone 2 provides.

And one more thing since lemmings can't seem to get it through their thick heads, may I point to one game series that has proven itself big time after the first game not doing so great.

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/ageofempires/index.html?tag=result;title;8 Age of Empires 6.8

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/ageofempires2theaok/index.html?tag=result;title;5 Age of Empires 2 9.1

While Age of Empires may not be a fps series, it proves a point that all the fanboys bashing Killzone 2 simply because of the first game need to shut the hell up and realise that just because the first game had issues does not mean that the next one can fix those problems and go above and beyond with the next title.

It really looks like Killznoe is going down the Age of Empires path and fanboys just don't want to admit it. The years of Killzone bashing is finally coming back and biting them hard in the ass, and I for one am loving it.

Not really surprised at the multi-plat announcement...however when they said fall 2009...my hype for the game went to zero.

Sony never would have paid or made negotiations with anyone if M$ wasn't paying every damn dev in the business, fact. This paying for downloadable content never would have happened if it wasn't for M$ and all you moron lemmings do is praise them for trying to monopolize the industry. What happened to being able to simply unlock something in a game from beating it on the hardest difficulty or entering a cheat...you have to pay for everything now and it's a fact that devs are locking this s**t on the game discs and require you to pay more.

All of this stopped the second the 360 came out. M$ is a plague in the industry that does nothing but throw around more money to secure exclusive content in every game possible...hell i'll go as to say that M$ has probably spent more money bribing devs this gen then they spent on creating the 360 itself seeing as the system has more hardware issues then any other home game system in history.

The fact that M$ has gone far enough as to bribe them so bad as to have the f**king demo exclusive is sickening and proves that they don't give a damn about gamers as they obviously don't want all fans of Tomb Raider to get a taste of the game. If this crap continues, don't be surprised if M$ pays to have future game demos exclusive and then requires you to pay to dl the demo itself.

The port part isn't about how long it would take but rather the fact that FFXIII is the only game they can judge anything off of in terms of other FF games going to 360 and when FFXIII itself actually comes out in late 2009, do the math. Wait a few months to see how it does on the 360, start the porting process which would tack on another 6 months...mid to late 2010.

Based on what we know now that time line seems to make some sense, albeit without the "prolly will be dead" that you mentioned before. Still not seeing why this would limit it's portability.

Well, Microsoft didn't really support the Xbox at all when the 360 came out, Sony on the other hand is still supporting the ps2. If Microsoft starts going on about their next system in the next year to year and a half (which I have strong belief they will seeing as how the 360 has been out a year longer then the PS3 and Wii), all hype will die for the 360 and will move right on to the next console. If Microsoft does the same to the 360 that they did to the Xbox, it would be pretty risky porting the game at that point.

Wow.......

After looking through this thread, all I see is a whole bunch of lemmings begging for FF games. You do realize that Microsoft already went and laid down a suitcase of money for FFXIII, don't you think they would have tried to get FFvsXIII as well? Hmmmmmmm.

Secondly, Numera is indeed a Sony fanboy, pure and simple. SE already commented on FFvsXIII's exclusivity after the announcement of FFXIII going multi-plat.

Thirdly, even if they wanted to port FFvsXIII to 360, it would be mid to late 2010 at the earliest. For god sake they even said FFXIII's development on 360 hasen't even started yet and it's not going to until the game is completed and out in Japan. By this time, I would bet money that 360 will be dead and what would be the point of releasing a port of a PS3 game only in the western countries then? None.

It really is funny how many lemmings were doing nothing but bash FF and SE and saying they are way inferior to the western rpg developers a couple years ago, look at em now. ZOMGZWTFBBQ!!!!!!!! We're getting FFXIII!!!!! we're guranteed to get every game from SE from now on!!!!! What happened to all the bashing lemmons? Pretty damn pathetic bunch if you ask me.

-RPGamer-

Why would it take so long to port a game thats based on an engine that is designed to support multiple systems inherently?

I'm no lemming BTW, just don't see much concrete evidence that they won't try it. I see what I would like to compare to what happened with Nintendo from the SNES to the N64.
