@Coolyfett: Opinions vary, but its generally thought of as one of the high points in the golden era of 16 bit role playing gaming goodness. You can cite its cast of likable characters, its narrative, which is the same good vs evil that is a staple of most games, but Trigger at least manages to mix it up a bit with time traveling, and one of the bigger draws is the fact that events between the past, present and future are meaningful, in the way that performing an action or altering the landscape in one time has an effect on the other two time frames, something that was never seen in a game up to that point. Plus the soundtrack is rather nice.

Kind of interesting how so many people are recommending Fallout, considering its not even out and no one has played it yet. You don't know if its going to be any good at all.

Good things come to those who work.

I grew up solid middle class, the son of a construction worker.

I went to school, got my masters in education administration. Through my hard work during the summers of my teaching job when I was off I was offered another position with a company way out of the realm of Education. My wife an I's combined income is over 200 grand a year now.

It doesn't matter what your degree is in. A college degree is just a sign that you are willing to grind your way through the bullshit and do what needs to be done.

Company's will recognize that. You'll be rewarded.

I would beg to differ. My ex wife has a Bachelors in English. The best she has ever done is work at a coffee shop. She thinks she deserves a high paying job because she earned a degree in English except no one will hire her because she doesn't have a skill set in anything beyond menial bullshit.

Serves her right though. She's almost the dumbest bitch I've ever met.

Hey be nice, I'm thinking of getting my MFA. =P

@TheDarkWolf86: While it is true that the AC series has flooded the market in recent years, leading to an overall over saturation and consumer wariness and fatigue, Syndicate actually presents the series in a fascinating timeline, historically, coupled with relatable protagonists and a great antagonist. It also manages to subtly work in complex historical themes such as progress vs stagnation, power and privilege vs the willpower and persistence of the common working class citizen, etc. The game actually has a lot going for it, in regards to multiple reasons for picking it up.

I enjoyed The Martian. You know who else reportedly got an early viewing and really enjoyed it? President Obama.

Realistically, you are talking about two very different experiences, each with their own different worlds. It’s not like comparing and contrasting two RPGs or two shooters. Fallout and Assassins Creed are two very different games, with fundamentally different core systems, underlying mechanics, and immersive worlds.

Ultimately what you get out of each game comes down to whether you are able to identify with and take pleasure out of those particulars that are unique to each experience.

Do you like the idea of stealth-based gameplay in the historically rich time period of late 1800’s London, during the Industrial Revolution?

Would you rather explore the post-apocalyptic world of Boston, after the Great War?

Syndicate has the advantage of being out already, so if you’re somewhat impatient, there’s always that option.

It could be called Star Wars: 50 Shades of the Force and it would still bring in billions.
