It will follow the same rules as last time, just that no late entries will be allowed; meaning that the last chance for a player to post his predictions will be after the last practice session on Friday. No predictions will be allowed on Saturday.
Old-school Ferrari!!Napster06Yup!
As for SMUboi's idea, it might be kinda unfair to use the weighted system. We all know that the car choice is not the most important factor for winning. Last season was won by a Toyota even though many experienced players were driving in the so called "lead" cars. There's a lot of luck involved in BATracer as well, sometimes even if u have a 100% setup and good strategy and safe driving attitude u might still end up in a crash or mechanical failure. I remember last season I was teammate with Jason and we were driving in a McLaren, we had very good setups yet our luck was so bad. Therefore, we'll have to find the fairest system possible, plus we still don't know if the cars will differ in the 07 version or not.
But I like the other idea, were if u drive in 1'st tier car in the 1st season, u cannot drive in the same tier in the next season, even if the draw puts u in a 1st tier car. Not because car choice might affect ur chances of winning, but because players usually like to drive in the lead cars. ;)
Regarding SMUboi's 1st point, I agree that the champion must also be an active poster of "professional" race reports and press conferences. We're not asking him to post all the time, just consistency as SMUboi mentioned. I have some cool ideas for press conferences where we ask the top 3 drivers questions after the race and so players can build up their drivers' characters, but lets keep that for later. :)
I think that we have 2 reasonable options so far:
1. Play across 3 seasons per year and use either my accumulated points system or SMUboi's weighted points system to determine the champion. Plus the consistency in posting professional race reports.
2. Hold 2 seasons per year and use the regular system for determining the champion. Plus the consistency in posting professional race reports.
We should decide on this quickly, as Jason pointed out we don't have much time left and we also need to open a voting thread to decide on the system.
Maybe we can join up with a design union.Napster06Do u have any names in mind?
