Y'all should read what edgework (a staff) posted over on the "Where are the ratings?" (currently) stickied thread. This should ease everybody's worries. Thanks @edgework

@edgework: Okay, but what exactly does that mean? Will I suddenly have a "stack" called "my rated games" or something like that? It needs to be in ONE single location for quick viewing access at the very least. It would be nice to be able to organize it by date/score/platform/etc. but that's secondary to having ALL of my ratings in one place.

We're revamping the 'Stacks' page(s) so that all your ratings are available, sortable and filterable by platform, game, rating etc. Also your ratings will show up properly in all pages where the given game is featured. When that goes live give it a go and tell us what you think.

these stupid stacks aren't even correct in the number of games of have.. well kind of.. on the overview page it says 605 - 110 and in the stacks themselves it says 610 (got) - 115 (want) (which is as it should be) and I can't even move games from my wish list to my collection...

GG gamespot ;)

This is actually by design. The overview page that shows all your stacks has images for 5 games in each stack and then a number that shows how many other games are in that stack. Essentially it shows "You own these 5 + 1499 other games" (this is what I see for my wish list stack).

I can't even imagine what the conversation must have been like for people to agree this was the way to go. Subtle, yet stupid, design decisions like this are what seem to be peppered all over the site instead of actually functional utility.

But hey, it looks kinda pretty.. doesn't it?

@Bgrngod

Holy shit!!! That actually makes sense! I have 100 games (exactly) and my stack was telling me 95. I was thinking I had to go over the my collection to figure out what games GS had actually dropped. That would've been a pain in the butt. Thank you for enlightening me.

I have another minor bug. In the Bug Reporting & Feedback Forum, in some threads, the #of posts in the thread listed there in the posts cell is lower than the actual #of posts in the thread. For example, there were 3 posts on this thread, while it displays 2 in the Bug Reporting &Feedback Forum. As I mentioned, a very minor issue, but should be corrected. Very curious behavior indeed.

edit: I just refreshed said forum and checked again, it said a total of 3 posts. There are other topics where the difference is more than 1, so it is not the "replies" that we're dealing with here. Probably the DB hasn't updated at the time of the refresh. Just FYI.

We recognize stacks are lacking a lot of the utility they possessed in their earlier incarnations, specifically the management of stacks with a large amount of games; the feedback is most definitely appreciated. We are currently working to solve the current challenges with stacks and improve the overall usefulness of them.

Thank you for updating us on the status. I look forward to seeing a more functional and vibrant stacks section.

Initially it was just a list with icons and names (some of which were Japanese names too). Now there is the added release date without the year. That is some improvement over the stacks. So I think there is hope. In the future, I can see some functionality being returned so that the stacks are more useful for those that use it to manage our games. Let's all hope (and pray) that that is so.

Talk about if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I usually never complain on this site but this stacks thing is a joke. I try making a "stack" and it doesn't even save. I get an error saying "please choose a valid template." I don't know if this is a bug or if I really didn't choose a template. But hey, the real question is why the hell do I have to go through this anyway? Who said this was a better idea than your old fashioned tracked games list?

Get rid of it.

I think the new philosophy of GS is fix it till it's broke.
