Finished Kuroko no Basuke's third season just now. Man, this anime has been a monumental one in my life. Last year, the second season inspired me to start playing Basketball and then I intentionally delayed my watching of the third season till I got better at basketball. And now, I have to say, I'm not feeling, even in the slightest, embarrassed in saying that an anime inspired me to do something which might really turn out to be a 'lifetime decision'.
The 3rd season was all I was expecting and I was expecting it to not surpass the second season and it didn't. But that doesn't mean it was bad. It was every bit as enthralling but nothing can simply match the caliber of Kagami vs Aomine. Though, admittedly, much of the character development and plot proceedings happened only in this season which made up for some heartfelt scenes. Akashi's regression to his former self was felicitous and entertaining to say the least. The highlight of this whole season was however, Kasamtsu for me (as is obvious from my avatar). He's far from even a 'main character' but he really is the best captain one team can wish for.
"I don't care if you're Generation of Miracles or Kise of Teiko. Because now, you're Kise of Kaijo".
There were definitely more highlights but Kaijo's battle with Seirin and the way Kasamatsu bridges the rift drawn between the two teams after Kise's retirement is downright amazing. Overall, this season was better than the first and even got close to the second season. 9/10
