Yeah, definitely a power surge that fried your Wii. If the Wii was designed well...only the power supply will need to be replaced. If not, then the whole system board would need to be replaced (in all likelyhood...you'd get a new Wii). Get yourself a good surge protector for when you get your Wii back. Not some crappy one, one that can handle a large power spike.

There is only one injection point that I can think of in reference to the Nintendo Wii and thats the WiiConnect24. With a Wii on and receiving information all the time, it can download news, weather, and other update items that by themselves seem inocuous however if someone were to hijack that signal...could inject their own code into the download stream. That however could only be done locally within physical range of the Wii. That is assuming that you have your Wii set up via WiFi. Connected via LAN cable...they would have to hack Nintendo to perform any kind of injection.

Despite the fact that it looks pretty slick...its impractical. Imagine how you would have to hold that in your hands just to be able to type. I dont think there is a way to hold it properly.

Put Runescape on there =P

Ok, kidding aside...im not sure if an MMO would work on a handheld let alone the PSP. The PSP has the advantage of being able to use up to a 4GB memory stick (supposedly 8GB after firmware update 3.0) however that might be more taxing on the system than people might realize. Any new content that is released must be downloaded onto the memory stick and would be accessed all the time while in the new areas. Not sure about the data rate of which the PSP is able to access information on the memory card.

Content would continuously be loaded from UMD (original content that is) therefore battery drain would be severe. Add to that any new content...information from the UMD would still need to be accessed and the added power required to continuously pull information from the memory card (not to mention processing power) would bring the life of a single charge from about 6 hours from standard gameplay to say...2-3 hours at best.

I would love an MMO on the PSP but I just dont think its a viable option.

In my experience...its quite rare to come across a cartridge based game that freezes unless it gets dirty or the contact leads in the cart or cart recepticle are damaged. The NES suffered severely in that area and the SNES to a certain extent. Other than that, if everything seems fine...something in the game's manufacturing probably screwed it up.

Defective cartridge is my opinion (provided everything else is fine).

I think its a pretty cool idea AND like they are doing with the current GH...they can expand on it with new cartridges like Aerosmith and perhaps Metallica (hoping for it). I am looking forward to it however wanting to know the soundtrack first before I buy. If I dont like the songs...whats the point in getting. Aside from the 5th fret missing and only 25+ songs...it doesnt appear to be all that 'dumbed-down' as many other console to portable ports wind up being. It appears quite faithful to the console counterparts.

I beleive that an official statement (or statement in passing) from a Nintendo Rep that there would not be an SSB game made for the DS. Frankly, it doesnt make any sense from the gamer standpoint because the expansion of SSB to the DS would be an awesome move HOWEVER...they might hold out for whatever new portable gaming platform they may be concocting in the backgrounds.

Is the DS powerful enough for the SSB experience. I beleive it would be a let down if they attempted it because the DS imo is not powerful enough for SSB. Take the graphics engine that was used in FFIII and then tweaked and made better in FFIV; they push the video capabilities with its two 'video cards' (the DS has two...one the upper screen and one for the lower...FFIII utilized both at the same time to create the 3D imagery) to its limit. Could you see the DS putting out those level of graphics but on a larger scale?

Guess it was bound to happen after the DS sold over 66 million units or somethin like that.

Personally, I have both so i can get the best of both worlds.

It may or may not be legit however its really a moot point anyways. PSPs can officially use 4GB memory cards and are reported to being able to use 8GB cards after firmware update 3.0. I have not read anywhere that a PSP could use 16GB memory cards.
